Garfield 71, we (the drumline) wrote our own using the timpani and making sure the triples were tuned as needed..."Old MacDonald Had A Farm". It was a lot of fun.

In 76/77, I wrote "Oye Como Va" for the band I taught.

In 77, I wrote "Theme from Baretta" for the King's Regiment (were the Monarchs pre-merger), using bells and xylo.

Glassmen did Bohdisatva, Larry Lerch arranged it, in the early 80s. Very cool.

Bluewater Buccaneers did the drum intro from Legend of the One Eyed Sailor that people on the streets seemed to like a lot. I arranged it and I purposely stayed away from the Devils arrangement relying more on how Steve Gadd played it.

Regards,

John Swartz

Very cool indeed. I believe Gadd says it was based on an old solo he had learned called "Crazy Army".
