craiga Posted June 22, 2006 Share Posted June 22, 2006 Actually, the ORIGINAL 20th Maine Regiment is credited with winning the Battle of Little Round Top, by charging the hill and screaming like banshees and forcing a confederate retreat......the interesting part of this is that the 20th Maine had already run OUT OF AMMO! (Those crazy Mainers!) The C O was Col. Joshua Chamberlain, of Brunswick, ME, and when the 20th Maine Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps was founded in 1984, we adopted their orginal logo, a maltese cross which very closely resembles the Crossmen's logo.
