byline
That's not Sue. Carrie I-can't-remember-her-last-name, but wish I could. Nope, not Carrie. She had short hair in '78. I'm thinking this is Mary, but I can't remember her last name. Dang, once the brain cells go, they're gone!
john2780
Knowing the size of my timp - 26" - Rick Manning was banging huge plates. That was during the into to African Suite. Is that THE Jack Cash on the 23" tymp
susantaylor40
I think anyone who has ever carried a marching tymp around could easily quantify 99% of marching tympanist's thought process during a show.1) Man I can't wait for concert 2) Yaaaaaaa, concert 3) ####, concert's over Not when you marched legless (the tymps that is :) )

susantaylor40
OK Sue I found a few. I know this is DCI Canada, I think 1979. Now, Geno, this one I am in. Are you sure this is 79? The tymps don't have the shield painted on the front, and they were there in 79. I think those are the new drum we got in 80. John, what do you think? DPEmerald
Sue (the other one) didn't start marching Oakland until '79; this is a photo of the '78 tymp line.By the way, Dale, I take it these photos are by Ed Ferguson, as well? They are Ed's yes. Just to give you a brief summary. Ed and his wife Christa were/are very good friend's of mine. Ed passed away at 49 and after some time Christa gave me all of Ed's pictures. About 10,000 went to WGI and I am getting over 8,000 drum corps photos developed and put onto disks to preserve them. I am pulling a few from every disk to put here. He was a great guy and a very good photographer. Christa only asks that if anyone uses them they give credit to Ed. Dale
DPEmerald
Here's a few of a pretty good all-girl corps. Loved the plumes and boots. Check out the uniform on the bass drummer in the second picture. Enjoy.
