Then maybe they are 2 different years. Here's Sky's corps photo from 82, and that's not the same group. And I have always heard/read that SCV didn't bring out steel pans until '83. Legolaus
Great pictures!I was there in the stands somewhere! I was too!! I will never forget that show. All the corps were great and it was a thrill to be in Whitewater for Drum Corps.

I can confirm that the SCV and BD photos are not from 82 - SCV had the steel drums in 83 only, BD first used the tuned Paiste Gongs in 83, the 2nd year of the Paradox drum solo. Good times
Bob J
The Freelancers photo is '83 as well. Carl's ageout year!
tommytimp
Yeah. All 1983. Good sutff, though. One of the greatest days in Knights history. Maybe THE greatest.

Who is the judge in Hawaiian shirt and cutoffs? Edited July 25, 2008 by IllianaLancerContra

jacquesb
Spirit Of Atlanta Hey! That's me on #2 bass! And I can therefore comfirm that this is indeed 1983... first part of "Blues In The Night".

I could be wrong but it sure looks like SCVs beloved Fred Stanford, especially in the shot with Spirit. In some of the other shots 'he' is hovering around the drumlines
