Hrothgar15
Now, we're all familiar with the debacle of a soprano solo in the Blue Devils' 1989 show. What other memorable messups, marching or visual, can you think of? Not a very encouraging topic, but interesting nontheless.

MusicIsALifestyle
this really wasnt a big messup, but i do remember being horrified at two kaks in some soprano solos 1) santa clara 89 - the first sop soloist almost got through, but then at the end there was this glaringly obvious "FWEE-ahh" at the end of the solo and 2) Cavies, Spincycle - during the part where the corps was sitting down, and people were getting up and playing quick rips and then sitting down again, the fourth "soloist" must have been really nervous or something cause all the notes were really weird-sounding. hope i dont offend you, Fourth-Spinning-Cavie-Soloist, if youre reading this. divII/IIIlvr
Cavies 02 - Finals night...the "gock blocker" dropped his stick and had to air gock block! Madison 02 - Hayward, CA...the drummer that lead the corps onto the field started his lick on the wrong yard line. Half the corps stopped on the 50 the others went to the 45. THey basically feel apart. the crowd laughed! Oops....bet he never did that again.
Matt_S
I remember a pic from Madison '02, where one guard member is very obviously out of the form, standing on the wrong yard line, five yards from where he should be. :o

84BDsop
Dugada or bd5times could confirm this....but 82 BD in T.O.....wasn't there a halt where, on camera, the center field cymbal kept marking time?

Galen
Others that come to mind: Cadets '95, the mello soloist "swallows" the last note of what had been a beautiful solo until that point. Had the sense not to re-enter, though. Cavvies '01: Saw this show a lot on tour, and heard the soprano playing the "Rainbow" solo in the closer mess that up many a time. The solo was watered down significantly by the end of the show. Southwind '00: Front three contras are 2 steps off in the last form, ruining a perfectly good box and quite possibly lowing their visual score enough to keep them out of finals. Cadets '02: Finals night, all the "little" things that went wrong (ie the falling contra player, the sneeze, the "un-toss", etc) Edited May 1, 2005 by Galen
