I would rather not see them do throwbacks.

If they never did Malaga, Malaguena, Slaughter, etc. again,

I would o.k. with that. There are plenty of

untapped themes and arrangements out there that they could really

shine with. I like listening to the greatest hits too, but I'll save

that for the DVDs and CDs. I would rather see what they

could do with some of the earlier film scores of Basil Poledouris

or Benjamin Britten's War Requiem...or something all original.

I think that maybe they could do some gr4eat versions of stuff like Strawberry Soup and Slaughter.

I would love someone pull out bits and pieces of maybe someone else like an all Phill Collins show.

I know that some people don't like him or whatever and I may sound too Top 40 for ya', but think of the possibilities...

Sussudio

Something Happened on the Way to Heaven

In the Air Tonight

Take Me Home

Who Said I Would

You Can't Hurry Love

I Don't Care Anymore

Drum Solo w/Chester Thompson

All of these, just to name a few, would be great to do because they have some great horn parts and you could do some great visual stuff too!

That's what gets my vote! Or you can always rehash Ice Castles!

Better yet...

A Drum Corps Fan's Dream Part III -

A Tribute to the Velvet Knights - Magical Mystery Tour Part 15! B)

Wow Poledouris. I was involved with a new start up corps in 1986 (went belly up before the season) that was going to play Basil Poledouris music for our show. The Brass was playing through 3 tunes and the drumline had 2 tunes done before the finances ran out.

We were gonna be Div II, but it woulda been good.

Actually phil put together a bi\g band and did some performances in Paris. his stuff translated very well to the big band, and would probably translate well to drum corps.

Even if it really is a rip-off...that's got to be the greatest idea ever.

...xcept maybe for a parody of Phantom's "Rhapsody" show called "Hungarian Rhapsody". There's an idea for you

If Madison were to do a throw back type show, I'd rather see them perform something they have not re-hased all that often. Something like Waltz of the Mushroom Hunters or Harlem Suite. But I'll say it again (can't be said enough) - BILL CHASE!

The follow up to the Carmen show!

Carmen dies at the end of the 2005 show.

It's 2006. She's a bitter rotting corpse out for revenge.

She's wearing a faded red and sequined outfit.

I think you get the picture....

YES!!!! I can see it now:

Guest performer: Shirley Whitcomb

(I'm not suggesting Ms. Whitcomb is a bitter, rotting corpse out for revenge...just figuring an elder member of the drum corps family would work out...and I'll always love "Ma Drum Corps.")
