The Greatest Drum Corps Shows of All Time

Recommended Posts

As of now they have 21 total mentions and only 3 top 3's. Not quite blowing everyone out of the water. I do agree it was a very entertaining show, but it was hardly the greatest drum corps show of all time.

well when I did the POINT total, not the vote total, Madison 95 was well over 120 and nothing else was higher than 85

I'm gonna use my anti-vote.

1997 Blue Devils

I love love love the repretoire. Especially A Night In Tunisia, absolutely amazing. However I will say it has got to be the most bland and boring visual design that the Blue Devils has ever put out. That drill...??? what WAS that? It was a series of snakes and blocks going all over the field and at a lot of times didn't match with the music. Nothing notable, no climatic special moves or formations. It was just there. I've labeled it the most boring drill design I've ever seen.

Dude, what is it with you and your hate on for BD 1997? I think this is like the 4th or 5th thread in which you have crapped on that show (with the exception of Night in Tunisia of course....)

And, I'll say that opening series of sets, with the rotating / expanding / collapsing diamond was pretty climactic in my books.

10. 1982 Blue Devils

09. 1999 Madison

08. 1999 SCV

07. 2002 Cavies

06. 2004 Blue Devils

05. 1987 Garfield

04. 2004 SCV

03. 1995 Madison

02. 1989 Phantom

01. 1984 Garfield

VERY Honorable Mentions go to:

1980 Bridgemen, 1984 and 1985 Suncoast Sound, 1986 SCV, 1986 Sky Ryders,

1992 Crossmen, 1992 V.K., 1996 Phantom, 2000 Boston, 2003 Phantom

This was TOO Freakin' Hard! There are so many great choices. One other piece of criteria I used was that I had to see a live performance of each of the ones that made it to my Top 10. I was able to see all of the honorable mentions live except for Phantom 1996 (what a shame!).
