Michael Boo
I don't know this as a fact, but I wonder how many of these shows were even professionally recorded in the same way that finals was professionally recorded. They all were recorded for the LPs/cassette tapes/DVDs, but were they recorded visually in the same way?
bluecoats88
I know in 1986 they recorded all of semi finals with a high camera angle. I have the BD, Spirt, bluecoats, boston, and Connexion Quebec high cam video from 1986.
Guardguy89
I would love to see any year that I didn't make finals (which was most of them!!!!!). Having a DVD on demand option would be great (ordering only the shows that you want). Later, Mike
Lancerlady
Yep, some of them were, I have 1985 and 1986 of the 27th Lancers on high camera but wonder about the early 80's if there were any video recordings of the Memphis Blues. It'd be nice to have them.
markdewine
I think for the sake of posterity, EVERY SHOW that DCI has in their archives should be available. Just because a corps finished 18th or 22nd, doesn't mean it's 'no good.' All those people thru all those years worked their tails off, and are proud of what they accomplished. Market every recording that's available. :)

Might be something to find out...and, hey, it could be an entire new line of stuff for you to write liner notes for. :) Edited April 5, 2006 by bawker
Matt_S
And it's not just the Legacy years. As far as I can tell they haven't released DVD's for 13-21 during the 2000's, either. I'm always disappointed that my 2003 DVD doesn't include the Blue Knights. :(
tubawarrior
from at least 2003 on, 13-21 were available but on VHS only....at least as far as I know...I know 2003 was.
Jared_mello
from at least 2003 on, 13-21 were available but on VHS only....at least as far as I know...I know 2003 was. I've always been of the VHS's, and I know at least 97-01 have every corps that performed in div. 1 prelims, including the qualifying div 2/3 corps. I have the DVD from '02, but I also have the VHS's/all of the quarterfinalists from 2003. I have the VHS's of 1994 and 1995, and they only show the top 12. :( YES to Colts '97. I really want to see that show, along with BK '02, Madison '02 (I'm admittedly curious), corps like VK, Suncoast, and Freelancers in their declining years, FREELANCERS 1990/1988, etc.... tubawarrior
instead of legacy collections vid (or DVDs)....wouldn't it also be great for DCI to compile a classic countdown...not necessarily played in theaters (though that would be great), put the same process as the top div I's, just release the DVD
