Correlation of political view and views on drum corps

Gee, I never thought about political views vs "amps or no amps" in drum corps - interesting perspective!

Since I'm one of the more "geezerly" DCP'ers, and from the pre DCI era, I'd say that I was raised in an "old school" drum corps environment - M&M, starting guns, color presentations, structured shows, more military-oriented and straight lined show designs, etc,

and I struggle to this day over where drum corps is, whether it's where it should be, if it's off on another tangent, has become homogenized with fewer "superstar" corps and hundreds of corps who have passed on, etc.

But I AM a 19th century liberal!

Actually, this is a good poll, and political discussion can be fun.

I prefer to look at drum corps types in the following ways however:

1. Traditionalists

2. Moderate Traditionalists (a bit more centris)

3. Modernists

4. Progressive Modernists

5. Extreme Traditionalists (i.e. those who only like and support G bugles with no more than 2 valves, field percussion, marching timpani and bells, a smallish pit or no pit, and a small guard with true presentation of the colors at the end of every show)

I see most of the CE junkies have made it into this thread, I suppose I should join.

I put Liberal against... even though I don't like calling myself a liberal (for fiscal reasons) and I don't like saying against (because of some corps making them sound #### good - bluecoats 05)
