For those of you who don't know, John is set up here in "the box" ... which is really the far corner of the stands on the 2nd level on the #1 side (which for you young folks is on the left side of the field while looking at it! :) )

He has 3 Dell laptops (hopefully all the batteries won't blow up during the show b**bs ) ... ROFL.

The box is really an unfinished "room to be", with bare aluminum stud framing with the insulation still rolled up on the floor!

Also, being on the 2nd floor, the wind just rips through here. Last night it was probably worse here than it was on the field. So, don't forget to give John and his crew your thanks ... they braved arctic-like conditions to bring you this great commentary.

Thanks EVERYONE!!!

Here's tonight's forcast from Weather.com:

Rain showers ending this evening with mostly cloudy conditions overnight. Low 58F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Current temperature is 64 degrees. No wind, no rain. Overcast skies but the clouds are starting to break up a little. MUCH better night for drum corps.

Dream sounds like it has strong support from the fans.

Who is Dream?

In the Fall of 2001 a group of people gathered in a small music study room at Cerritos College to discuss the formation of an all age performing unit for those who had aged out of junior corps and wanted to continue their love for the activity.

As a result, the Dream was born.

Originally named The SoCal Dream Machine, then quickly shortened to just SoCal Dream, the senior drum corps was given a foundation to start from with the help of the Impulse Youth Arts Organization.

Purple and black were the colors chosen by the corps, which they debuted in the Summer of 2002 with their trademark bowling shirts and fedoras. SoCal Dream performed as a stand-still exhibition group during their inaugural season performing old drum corps favorites such as Walk Him Up The Stairs and El Gato Triste.

2003 was the corps' first competitive season as they produced a full field show production with music from the motion picture The Mambo Kings, complete with a new sound and a new look. Baseball caps and black coats replaced the chartering fedoras and bowling jerseys as the corps began to develop their image and pave the way for the years to come.

In the Fall of 2003 SoCal Dream had set out to establish an independent foundation. Gracious of their support from Impulse, the corps once again added another building block to their structure by not only filing for their own non-profit status, but by altering their name to simply Dream, a sign of true independence and rebirth.

In addition to the name change, the Dream Association of California was formed as a business entity to foster support for the drum corps and other subsidiary groups. In 2003, the Dream Association proudly collaborated with Mystikal (a Division III Jr corps based in the San Fernando Valley) and City Sound (a Collegiate/Open Division winter drumline) to give all three organizations more stability and a stronger foundation.

Good start from Dream. Soloist at the end of L'Arena had a little trouble, maybe some nerves creeping in there.
