2006 - The Year of the Slide Whistle?

Recommended Posts

When I was at the Lawrence MA show, on 8/2- Cavies played the slide whistle

and people laughed.

I guess they were entertained by it.

Well, if this is what all we can find to complain about these days, then I would say that Drum Corps is alive and well!!!

When alto lines start consisting of 8 mellos and 8 slide whistles, then, by all means, complain!

...please....!!

Relax...just having some post Labor Day vacation fun. Slide Whistles the Bane of Drum Corps Existence. Rest your head awhile...the brick wall means you no harm.

Its a legit instrument that is also legal.

*shrug*

When slide whistles are outlawed, only outlaws will have slide whistles.

Slide whistles???????? Why not get rid of trumpets? They're loud, annoying, frack when players try to hit a high note that they can't possibly hit, and they're not manly enough. Loud screamers have gotten gimmicky. Not to mention EVERYONE uses them!

:P

How about some respect for slide whistles? I am the president of the American Slide Whistle Association (ASWA) and we are a very serious bunch. Anyone interested in coming to our annual festival please contact me personally. Especially if you are a dumb blonde woman who gets turned on by slide whistles. Please be over 18.

Check out some of our sample sounds at Whistle Samples
