randomnoise Posted April 7, 2007 Share Posted April 7, 2007 Yesterday, I was asked to put together a Brass Ensemble to play 3-4 BD tunes at the 50th anniversary concert at the Lesher Center in Walnut Creek on June 16th. (I know - how cool is that!?!) I have lots of good tunes from the 70s and 80s to do. I am planning to get JD Shaw's arrangement of Ya Gotta Try and play it with a double brass quintet. I also have Dindi, Everybody Loves the Blues, Chase the Clouds Away, Legend, etc., etc. What I need is suggestions for more recent music. What are your favorite BD tunes from the last 15 or so years? Also, if you are a professional brass player and want to be considered for a spot in the ensemble, please drop me a line. Especially if you play low brass. Rob Brown - contact me!!!
