  1. 1. Based on the actual shows, which decade of DCI have you enjoyed the most?

    • 1970s - mostly symmetrical drill, non concept shows, ridiculously loud hornlines
      30
    • 1980s - more complex drills, beginnings of concept shows, dancing guards, grounded pits
      77
    • 1990s - full concept shows, more integration between all the sections
      83
    • 2000s - more visual complexity, later added amps/singing/narration
      41

I went with the 80's. But I don't think it's a prejudiced vote just because I marched them too. I've seen most every 70's show that film and videotape can provide. And I attended most every 90's show I could. And ALL of our local 2000's shows.

I just have to say that the 80's was incredibly exciting to both march and to see.

It's funny how when I was marching in the 80's, no one really said "Wow! This decade is the shiznit!". But we ALL felt it.

It's hard to say anyway. I mean, how do you compare the 75' Scouts to the 06' Cavaliers. It's apples and oranges.

I agree. However, I can more easily compare Phantom Regiment '06 to Phantom Regiment '91, '88, '87. Those are more apple to apples imho.

I think PR brought back an "old school" show, modernized it, and nailed it. SCV tried that in '05 with less success.

I think Cavaliers '06 is pretty unique and would be hard to compare with most anything that preceded it.

You're right, comparing 75 Scouts and 06 Cavaliers is apples to oranges. And I just happen to like apples better than oranges. :)

I'm allergic to apples. Oranges FTW. Loved that Cavaliers show!
