purexitement Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 How long before Boston can challenge for the championship? They made changes this year with staff, etc Do they have the right structure in place? OR do they need to make more changes? Quote
baristeve Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 They're definitely a step up from last year... they won't challenge for the championship anytime soon but I could see them challenging for top 6 next year. Quote

ajlemm Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Boston seems to be very solid. I see no reason that once they "take it to the next level", meaning challenging for a caption lead like Crown is doing, they aren't quite there yet. Crown is a great example of how a corps goes from solid to really good to bordering on great! Maybe bringing some innovations to the activity would be the thing that gets Boston up there. I like them a lot. They are heading in the right direction. Quote
BACMom Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 My heart literally fluttered when I read the title of the thread. BAC really has done an outstanding job this year. Between all of the new staff and the rookie to vet ratio they have done really well "holding their own". We have seen other corps with these kind of changes fall dramatically in the rankings abd have to really work their way back up . Just imagine a couple of years from now when you have a "seasoned" staff and corps. Quote
OICMR corps Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I don't think they will have to wait very long. I think it will happen Saturday afternoon. Quote
ouooga Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Boston had a shot after 03, but went a different direction than they probably should have. Last year was a major improvement and this is year is one of my favorite BAC shows of all time. If they keep up their momentum, they can get back to where they were and progress....I'd say 2012 would be a reasonable time to start thinking about it. Quote
pearlsnaredrummer77 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 This year's show is really good, a muscular style. I agree with some of the above posters-when they can get clean enough to really challenge in a key caption, I think the rest will fall into place. This is a great corps, that has the "chops" to do it, they only need a "Red" type show that makes that connection with the crowd and it will be like Crown is doing this year. I can see BAC in the top 5 if they can find a good design that connects. Quote
dbc03 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Boston is going to have to make some serious strides in show design to be considered a contender for the title. Don't get me wrong, they are consistently very good. However, very good won't get you in the top 3. With the huge steps made by Crown very good won't even get you in the top 5 these days. Quote
