  1. You should get used to the uniforms i think they'll be around for a while. Also the Scouts are "a generic drum corps" what would rather hear them singing with props in the background like its a BOA competition. at least they r still a drum corps.
  2. Drum Corps is not pro Sports. No one on that field a week ago in Madison was getting paid millions of dollars to be out there, plus sponsorships for what they were wearing and everything else pro athletes get. Corps rely on admin as the glue during the summer. Sal Salas was a great leader for the Scouts. Not only that but assisst director Cody Pileski has been let go. The Scouts could have major problems coming and that would be a big disgrace to the corps and the activity. There was confusion and disagreement with Scott Stewart leaving after 2002 but that was somewhat seen coming, today was a shock to the Scouts and the drum corps community.
  3. I know this sounds weird but does anyone know who sings the song they played at the beggining of the Age Out Ceremony? I think it was titled End of the Road! I know its unusual but anybody that knows would be great.
  4. Their work is great. I personally liked there show this year. They have put together a great staff. The members performed it well, it took them a while to get it but finals week was impressive. Lets hope good things keep coming.
  5. It Has Taught me how to manage Time. Also if you can learn to do all of the tasks drum corps teaches both on and off the field simple jobs at home and assignments at school become so much easier.
  6. But She was hidden in the BackField Podium and then went back in after she was done. You never saw her before or after she was on the field.
  7. 2000 Boston Crusaders 2003 Cavaliers 2005 Madison Scouts
  8. In 2002 at the DIV II show in Erie, PA. someone missed the six count drum filler after the opening statement and that through the show off from there. Some went with what they saw and the others what they heard. Talk about Train Wreck. Hey but we did make the finals that night, if they wouldn't have been canceled by a tornado warning!! b**bs
  9. and for the record, i don't really consider madison to be one of the "top" corps anymore... they have as much to prove as bluecoats in my mind. madison has fallen and returned how much more do they need to prove
  10. care to name a corps that was founded in the 1930's and hasn't changed.
  11. the Rose Bowl is not the only one I was watching some of the Cotton Bowl on JAN. 2nd and both Tex Tech and Bama Bands Got TV time. funny i think Bama played the latin song from Cavis 04 show. (or maybe it sounded like it)
  12. you cant possibly say that either would be 8-10 points behind. the shows were designed for different levels. the div II shows are designed to get general effect across to a smaller stadium like in Brockton MA. a div I show is designed to get across in satdiums like the Alamodome, the RCA Dome, J. Birney Crum and most importantly Gillette Staidum. no div II show could be looked at the same as a div I the only way to really know is if ecj or the spartans grow in numbers and move divisions.
  13. 2005 Bluecoats - 6th at Quarters Tied for 5th at Semis Took 5th by 2pts at Finals
  14. Its not about where the corps finished the year before but where it could go with you as a member. No matter what, every member of every corps is important.
  15. '89 SCV - Simply Amazing! '99 Madison - That was just cool! '04 Cavaliers - (Maybe its just me) but that drill is pretty awesome. '05 Madison - This was a little different and a little unexpected, but still a powerful ending chord!!
  16. The East Coast Jazz Trumpet players over the last few years have been pretty smokin' hot. I hear one of them is still pretty young!
  17. No matter how bad Madison was or how good Bluecoats were, there is no way that after a tie the night before BC did not gain 2 points on Madison. Both performances were Great but the scores were a little off!
  18. Demand has no bearing in score in DIV 1 either. There is the score for what is written and then a score for what is achieved but nothing about DEMAND or Difficulty!! How clean a performance is would determine how far a corps could go!
  19. Well there are DIV 1 corps that won medals this year that had some moves in their show that allowed hard moves to be recovered by a park and blow section. So I don't think ECJ would have had a problem at all!!
  20. I thought MADISON had a great show. The drill and music were both written very well. The corps also got back into the Top 6. Good for them!!
