  1. Everyone keeps saying top 3, forgetting about the corps from South Carolina. I'd say Bloo and Crown are possibly more in a battle for 3 and 4, while the CA corps battle it out.
  2. I'm so proud and excited for the Seattle Cascades this year; they have made a huge step up! I can't wait to see where they go, not just this year, but next. Adding Micah was huge for them, I can see; the drumline has taken a huge step forward. Side note: How do I find out where they are staying when they are in Denton on 7/20?
  3. I have been thinking about, and discussing this with friends for years, (or at least part of this topic anyway), so I was looking forward to reading this thread. A few of the folks responding to this thread have again shown me why I'm not active on DCP any more; reading personal attacks and people being down-right nasty on here gets so disheartening. It's drum corps: a beautiful, unique activity that we are all a part of, and in that way we are a family. Why attack someone? So sad.
  4. Is it just me, or do all of the front ensembles sound like they are rushing, or ahead all the time?! Is it something with the microphone placement?
  5. Man, reading this gets me excited, as a former marching member. I have been worried they'd be stuck near the bottom; I'm hoping this is the year they make the push!
  6. The GE sheets should cover that. If "what does it" for someone isn't a part of Effect, what is?
  7. I love that they are called the SEATTLE Cascades again. I too like the new uniform. I can't wait to see what they do this year. I'm very proud of what they've done the last couple of years. Let's keep it up S'cades!
  8. Does anyone know the best way to find out the rehearsal sites for corps when they are traveling? We would like to stop by one of the corps rehearsals when they are in Denton, TX on 7/16, but don't know where to search for this information. Thoughts? Thanks!
  9. I am unable to watch the Live Feed because of work. Does anyone know if this will be up to rewind later? Also, read the article Michael Boo shared on the blog about Patria. Wonderful story. Amazing. It is a miracle from God indeed.
  10. I asked via Live Chat during San Antonio. The DVR function does not work on iOS platforms. So now we know.
  11. 1. Blue Devils 2. The Cadets 3. Carolina Crown 4. Bluecoats 5. Santa Clara Vanguard 6. Cavaliers 7. Phantom Regiment 8. Boston Crusaders 9. Blue Knights 10. Madison Scouts 11. Blue Stars 12. Crossmen 13. Troopers 14. Spirit of Atlanta 15. Oregon Crusaders 16. The Colts 17. The Academy 18. Pacific Crest 19. Mandarins 20. Jersey Surf 21. Seattle Cascades 22. Pioneer
  12. 2007 Phantom Regiment has the best musical ending in Drum Corps history. I can listen to it over and over again.
  13. We have not been able to get the DVR function to work one time this year. We always have to watch the show a couple of hours late, and we have yet to see a show because of this. Watching everything days later On Demand gets irritating. Anyone else having this problem?
  14. We can almost never watch the shows live, so we try to watch it later. The "DVR" function has not worked for us once this year, and I noticed this morning that the multi-cam recording is gone. Is anyone else having this problem? Everything worked wonderfully with the Fan Network last year. Why is it not this year?
  15. This has always been my question/thought. To me; there just aren’t enough members (or qualified staff for that matter) to sustain 3 or 4 drum corps in the NW. 1 corps in Seattle, 1 corps in Portland, and 1 corps in Spokane would be the max that I could possibly see work. The (Seattle) Cascades have been struggling to field a full drum corps for years now, and I would think that any members from the Tri-Cities area would/should be encouraged to join the (Seattle) Cascades, or Spokane Thunder, or Oregon Crusaders. I hope that they aren’t spreading themselves too thin. As for Northern Sound that was starting up in Marysville; I don’t see how this could possibly work, especially with the (Seattle) Cascades coming back to the West Side of the state. There simply aren’t enough prospective members in the northern Puget Sound. I would really love to see drum corps in the NW thrive. I love seeing the Oregon Crusaders winning Div. 2 last year. I hope that they can continue to grow in Div. 1. I hope that Spokane Thunder can stay in competition and continue to grow. And of course the home team (Seattle) Cascades; I hope that they can make a step forward. I am glad that the floundering on the East Side of the state is over. I wish them all nothing but success!
  16. Is there a place that has the scores compiled yet? Dci not posting them today is making it brutal to find a list.
  17. With the new Prelims/Semis rules, the top 25 now make it into Semis. So, I'm sure there will be 3 or 4 that make it. Also, Teal Sound is no longer on tour. :( My prediction is that the Oregon Crusaders make it into the Colts/Troopers/Pacific Crest conversation and make it interesting at Semis.
  18. So are we! I can't wait to see how the season ends for them. They are so much fun to watch!
  19. I’ve hardly been on DCP the past few years, but I had to chime in here. Can we please, PRETTY PLEASE stop talking about where this post should be. Let’s focus on the original topic, which is how absolutely wonderful the Oregon Crusaders are this year. I know that I may be biased, but I know a good drum corps show when I see one. Predicted placements in World Class Prelims? Anyone? I believe their brass will finish in the top 15, and the corps should finish between 16-18.
