how on earth do you not understand GODFATHER... maybe you haven't seen the movies... but... COME ON!!!! rim shots in the beginning "gun fire" the cross drill " the movie poster" the dagger in the heart, the gun drill and cocking the gun, which is so cool in my opinion. not very musical?? thats totally your opinion, but i disagree they do not just play FFF the entire time.. they do have long blow away at the end of the opener and the closer, which are probably going to be worked with. But other than that.. YES, there is dynamic contrast throughout. i downloaded the bd and cavalier apds, i like bd a whole lot better cause they're playing music, cavaliers sounded too cut and paste from previous years, i kept listening.. and was like.. well that sounds like 2002,.. oh and thats the theme from 2003... no its not ALL like that... but the blue devils are doing something that doesn't remind me of previous years, yes it is a show that can relate to '96, but it doesn't sound like at all.

i was at the girlfriends house and got back late... and no... it's not what you think.

i bought the apd's of the blue devils and the cavaliers. first, the cavaliers: i was in shock of how the cavaliers brass don't play very much in the first 3 minutes... there are two sections where the play a little melody and crescendo into a loud chord.. but then the rest is just pit and battery work.... it seemed like the baritones have most of the melody in the show it seems, i kinda like that.. but the trumpets don't ever get a chance to really sell anything... snare break sounded relatively easy... nothing interesting about it to me. this is definitely a visual show(go figure)... and definitely will be skipped on my playlist. just not digging it. except for some baritone parts, and the pit stuff.. and last, the blue devils: they need to work with the pit volumes on the amps... " its TOO LOUD!!!! " ala steve bentley. haha. dynamics??? yes, they are there, i think most people here get the impression that it is nothing but FFF because of the conclusion of the opener where it is nothing but... FFF. It is a long conclusion, but I think it could be tweaked a little in the dynamic department. this show leaves me wanting more and i like that. cause there will be more.. NEW ENDING!!! my resources tell me that it will be in by the end of next week. the voice "i'll make him an offer.." has a very creepy voice, but needs to be a tad bit slower in the delivery. drumline is smoking. nuff said overall.. the blue devils music is really well written, the brass players seem to be coming around, they sound tons better each time i hear them, i think they will be very powerful by Madison. I was shocked the hear of the scores when i got in from the evening... but GE proved to be the deciding factor... i can't comment on the visual side of things.. so i will leave the GE visual scores for people that were there. I totally disagree with the GE music. I thought there were a helluva lot more cool moments with BD's brass and percussion book than cavaliers... the cavaliers just aren't doing enough musically to even compare to the blue devils in my opionon. but it doesn't matter.... the Colts are going to take it all this year.

Disneyworld is kinda dangerous it seems... when i was there, back in high school, i had to rest in the "disney first aid center" cause i had about a 101 temp, and had just marched in the "disney magic music days" parade... blah... anyways, i was laying on one of the beds, and this mother and kid were right beside me, and from what i got from the crying and the screaming, this kid fell off of a rocky ledge and landed on his face!! crazy....

interesting.. i don't see any video in that section...

i "might" be going.. depends if i can find a good ticket... or i may just go and watch the bd ensemble rehearsal at St. Mary's high school and then watch the run through.. i had fun watching the rehearsal last year and just by luck did i get a 45 yrd line ticket on the lower level with another bd alum. its been too long since BD has won at my self proclaimed home show down in San Antonio. #12!!!!!!

well i know of one euphonium hole that has been there most of the season... but he's finally going back i think yesterday or today. maybe they need to stretch more in the morning or something...

i would really really REALLY like BD to bring home the drum trophy this year... but i really like Phantom's sound that they're getting, very clean, very tight may the best line win! but may the Blue Devils take home #12.

and hold off it has... i wrote on the bd forums, that they were probably trying to figure out the star 91 ending.. cause that would be PERFECT ending to this years show, with the whole crosses...

i'm not saying they won't break 90, but the whole west coast bias is total BS.
