  1. The next 10 days (or so) are when every Corps is so much better than last season (whenever that was). Soon we will find out how each Corps ‘so much better’ ranks against other Corps ‘so much better’.
  2. As well as a possible crack in the time-space continuum
  3. We'll see. What I would like to see is a situation where the top 4-6 Corps are trading victories every contest, as well as the lower placing Corps. Then it would be a real contest to see who wins on any given night, as well as who make finals. In other words, I hope all the designs are equally good - let the decision come down to performance.
  4. Just a general observation - Ties for 12th place aside, because of math for every corps that was not in 2019 finals that makes finals in 2022, a 2019 finalist will drop from finals.
  5. Really hoping the VK Shark (GOAT prop) makes an appearance.
  6. I predict people will ask: 1. Corps X electronics failed mid-show - how could the judges award that number? 2. Judge - there was a major tear on side 2 in the closer - didn't you see that? 3. Corps Z - is all park & bark, why the high number in visual? 4. Can't you hear the thundering-goo overpowering the ensemble?
  7. The tour is in a rut with regionals in same places every year, in the same order, with all roads ending in Indy. Closest contest to me is 6-7 hr drive one-way. For people in California, World Class is over by 10 July. I find it interesting that as Corps are less & less tied to a geographic location (BD in Wyoming for ST; Bluecoats in Indiana, BAC in Vermont, etc) that stops along the tour are more entrenched.
  8. Another question re Flo: Am considering getting Flo, but with all the complaints during seasons past I am wary. But, perhaps more importantly, is the broadcast available to watch after the live event ends? I am teaching M-Th evenings this summer, & it makes little sense to purchase if I can't view it once back at the house.
  9. Whoa Whoa Whoa- There's a Buck-ees that is not in Texas?
  10. Attempting to steer this back So, which Corps will get the most donations for their fuel fund?
  11. My dad was a power-grid engineer. So I understand a bit how it works. We are nowhere near the electricity generation capacity nor distribution system required for what the auto manufacturers are touting. And adding capacity takes years. So someone better go fix that
  12. Even if we started building 100 new refineries today, it would have no impact on this season's diesel prices.
  13. Iirc that was what they were planning until the Hopacolypse happened
  14. I think so; others may know more. I miss Mike Boo- he would know.
  15. My experience is that Drum Corps are always soliciting donations, but I agree with your point.
  16. Horn line of ~38 IIRC. As I understand it they almost folded after that season.
  17. Thanks. I hope whomever signed the bus contracts for the various Corps was aware of this when they signed.
  18. Curiosity question- for leased busses, does the leasing fee include fuel? If so, I suspect there is some fine print in the contract that says ‘if fuel costs more than $x, the lessee pays more’.
  19. I would far rather a Corps cancel tour after ST because the costs are prohibitive than have a Corps stuck somewhere out of fuel & out of funds.
