  1. 2015 Bluecoats: Kinetic Noise - I play this in my car at full blast and irritate my son. This show was meant to be played loud! followed closely by 1990 Star of Indiana: Balshazzar's Feast - the first time I heard this at the Preview of Champions in Madison, it absolutely blew my mind!
  2. This was just pure frustration waiting for Thursday. I got nothin.
  3. 2009 Vanguard: “Ballet for Martha” so understated, so beautiful. The last push was one of the best in DCI history. I just got goosebumps writing that.
  4. 2003 Phantom Regiment “Harmonic Journey” is my favorite show in DCI history from a music standpoint. 2007 Phantom Regiment “On Air” is right up there in the top few as well. sooooooo goooood!
  5. 2010 Phantom Regiment - Into the Light. this show only gets better with age
  6. Not gonna lie. This sounds like it could be epic!
  7. Y’all must have missed the bottle dance and Mr. Moto marching around the edge of the field to end the show, huh?
  8. So are you saying this is an epic musical fail? (jk, as a MN boy, I love me some Govies!)
  9. Well, it’s understandable. Don’t you think people wouldn’t have been supportive if they would have known? Hindsight is 20/20, after all.

  11. Another one of those shows that I really liked at the time, but is now one of my all time favorites...
  12. What’s really great is many on here, myself somewhat included, who have been involved or at least watched this activity for as long as we have (30 years for me) get to follow a young person’s development into what has become for many of us a lifelong obsession. We all have different stories of what got us here. It’s great to read yours, DrumMan!
  13. Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts?
  14. Let’s go Bloooo! 2018 was such a great year! Let’s have another one of those in 2019.
  15. 1) Bluecoats 2) SCV 3) Pacific Crest 4) Spirit of Atlanta 5) Music City 6) BAC
  16. We also need these back: that’s right...it’s a Buick.
  17. After about 7 years of going to Indy, my friends decided they didn’t want to spend vacation time on the “same old Indy”. They were really hoping we could use it as an excuse to go to a different city and get away from the wives for a couple days. So now I go by myself. And while I wouldn’t mind if Finals week moved around, now I can finally focus on drum corps and doing some unique things that I knew my buddies wouldn’t be interested in, such as going to the Indianapolis Art Museum (now called Newfields) and searching for the Edward Hopper paintings I was inspired to find due to the Blue Devils show.
