We have been doing that since 1968 with the Maple Leafs! -
I would love to see the battle scene again but with Christmas shoppers instead.

Carolina Crown-most disappointing Friday
Canuck DCGroupie replied to MisterA's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Think you have been way overboard on your replies regarding this thread. Most of these non paying customers as you put it are either family or friends who might only see the corps once during the season so going to practice is a great way to get to see a bit more of them, that being your kids or friend(s). I fully understand why people would be disappointed. Time for your medication I think. -
Or play Dr. Beat. Sorry wrong corps!

Cadets and Crown will either tie or Cadets by.2 over Crown Have a feeling its going to be like last year with the two going back and forth up to finals. Have to admit I'm a Cadets fan though I like what Crown has done over the last couple of years. Congrats to Cadets last night making things interesting especially with 90 new members to work with.

What negativity is coming from "this corps". I've seen nothing but positive things coming from Cadets this year. Cadets are always one of the first to post tidbits from spring training. Lets keep G7 stuff to those threads and enjoy the positive previews coming out of camps. Don't see others doing this yet. Happy Memorial Day to all my American friends and family!
-
Nice. So you are blaming the kids? They would be the ones having to deal with the weather. Best thing to do is just not go to shows that the G-7 do instead of wishing bad things to the members. Also remember there are 6 other corps involved in this yet you have to focus on one.

I'm looking forward to hearing Empire's 65 piece G Hornline this year! Both sides of the Rainbow will hear them. -

Which WSS did you like better?

Have to agree with Donny here. Know its a DCI thread but Empire's version was incredible. One of the best DCA shows ever. Also loved HNC's Conflict and Resolution 2009 version. It was a different take on the story and not just the same old same old. It had me on my feet throughout the show and 3 company fronts....incredible! The all time best has to be 1984. -

A very interesting rant. I found it quite funny actually. I don’t think you need to worry about George ruining drum corps all by himself as you put it. There are many other factors doing this already. I don’t agree with everything he has done over the years but I do admire his dedication to the activity and the youth who participate year in and year out. He has done more good for the activity then bad. For instance, he saved Crossmen and Cadets from extinction years ago. Crossmen honoured him this year with an induction into their hall of fame. I guess he is also responsible for all the shows that don’t exist anymore as you pointed out. Sorry but you are so wrong. YEA and the Cadets currently sponsor more DCI shows than any other corps. I guess you will blame him next for the Rochester Crusaders problems this year and all the past DCA corps that have folded. If you look at the current membership in the top DCA corps, and this has been discussed on DCP in the past, there is a very small amount of age outs going from DCI to DCA. They are just starting their adult lives and when ready and wanting to, will go to DCA. The 21-23 year olds are a very small factor in the DCA equation. -
Best DCA Champion of the decade
Canuck DCGroupie replied to Jeff Ream's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
I chose Empire because having to come back after losing Vince was probably one of the hardest things they had to do ever. The show itself was great but I really feel the sign of a true Champion includes fighting off adversity and challenges to come back and do what they did. Champions are not just the ones with the highest mark. -
Cadets offer to lower your fees...
Canuck DCGroupie replied to CT-Horn's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I believe with fundraising incentives and payments in advance, Cadets are close to that as well and they don't have near the corporate sponsorships Crown has. -

I believe Tom Allen has approached all Corps in the past to inform their membership of the Operations Taps Program. Please send Tommy an email and he will help I'm sure. Tom's website for this program is www.operationtaps.org. If you can't get ahold of him I think he can be reached through the the Empire Statesmen. -

Jeff is an amazing person who does care for these vets and their families. Another person who needs to be mentioned is Tom Allen who is either the founder or runs Operation Taps. I'm not sure but what he is doing for these vets is amazing. Please go the the website www.operationtaps.org. -
I totally agree. Though their prelims show was great, the finals version was full of Statesmen attitude and on a different level. I felt the guard deserved a better mark but overall the corps performance as a whole was deserving of the move up they had. No Drum Corps Assassins seen in the stadium tonight from where I was sitting. Congratulations to the Bucs. They had the total show this year overall and were more than deserving of their 5th straight title. Looking forward to the DVD already so I can see it and all these great shows over again.

Excellent Job Empire
Canuck DCGroupie replied to dcabaritone's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
Congratulations Empire on another great year. You have always been one of my favorite corps. I thought the servicemen honour guard was a great and honourable addition to the show that added to the theme. Looking forward to the Renegades/Empire "cultural" exchange next year. Allen B, you might need a bigger stadium for the home show next year.
