  1. Judging by the upside down W in the middle of the field, I would say you are correct. Maybe it was so the fans were not staring into the sun.
  2. Blue Stars keep improving (and I like their show, a lot), but they need to start beating some of the corps you mention head to head. Maybe we will see that tomorrow night. The Stars should have an advantage over the Glassmen and Spirit considering they will sleep nicely on a gym floor tonight while the corps who performed in Normal are on the road for three or four hours.
  3. 1 The Cadets 77.400 2 Boston Crusaders 73.800 3 Blue Stars 70.500 4 Troopers 65.400 5 Pioneer 58.800
  4. Word has it the Blue Stars scored a 70.5.
  5. Radar shows the rain leaving the area. No more rain!
  6. LOL - maybe you should wait until the first regional to declare that. It was a good score jump for all of the corps tonight, but as we know, it is difficult to compare scores from different shows.
  7. That is quite a bunch 3-5. I guess Blue Stars added a lot of visual stuff yesterday, it must have helped. All of the corps must have had a good day of practice. The show Saturday in Madison will be very interesting.
  8. No offense intended, but I have seen them and they do not have a show (or the talent/experience) capable of a single digit finish. They are better than last year for sure, but Madison fans need to be happy if the Scouts are abloe to slip into finals this year. Thinking eighth or better is simply setting yourself up for a disappointng year end result.
  9. You cannot be serious. Madison might make finals, but they are just another one of four or five corps fighting for one of the last two or so spots. Eighth or better is simply fantasy land.
  10. I don't know why this sort of stuff is even brought up. Different shows, different judges, etc. You cannot compare scores when the corps have not gone head to head.
  11. I have to believe that no brass judging has to be hurting the Blue Stars and that if they stay in the same score range as the Colts and Madison, then things should be fine for them after the 4th. I also think their GE Visual score is too low. Let's see how things shake out during the next week. I have a feeling that things will be considerably different come the first regional.
  12. Saturday August 2, 1975 Whitewater WI DCI Midwest Prelims STADIUM: Warhawk Stadium DCI Position Corps Score 1 Santa Clara Vanguard 86.700 2 Madison Scouts 86.550 I know, it was prelims.
  13. With only five judges, expect some wild swings in scoring early this summer. One judge has way to much influence on the total score.
  14. They did get killed by that one judge. Plus all corps in Rockford were low in GE Visual when compared to Toledo. PR's 13.9 won this caption over the Cavaliers, but this would have been good for only 4th in Toledo (behind Boston). This is why you cannot compare scores between two different judging slates.
  15. They are much better this year, but seeing some of the predictions of an 8th place at finals seems a little silly to me.
  16. I saw both the Blue Stars and Madison last week. A lot of you are dramatically underestimating the Blue Stars this year. They are not the same corps that we saw in 2007. Madison is much better as well, but they arenot at the same level as the Blue Stars.
  17. I have no idea who will place where at the end of the year, but based on Fan Network videos, I predict the Cavaliers will come out as the corps to beat. Based on seeing both Madison and the Blue Stars practice this week, I believe the Blue Stars will place above the Scouts (by the way, both corps are considerably better than last year at this time).
  18. Though very little music, they did show some nice clips of the guard. The improvement in the Blue Stars visual program and GE is noticeable.
  19. The guard will be getting new jerseys as the year goes on. More color, divided into "teams", etc. It is hard to over state how much better the Blue Stars are visually this year over last.
  20. Very nice review. I saw the Blue Stars last year at about the same time, right before the first show. The improvement is very noticeable. The visual show and the guard are MUCH better this year. The horns and drums are improved as well. In my opinion, the Blue Stars have made a big move up in quality of design and performance. I cannot wait to see how they do this weekend against competition.
  21. Hard to hear the Scouts over the crowd at Brat Fest? When did the world turn upside down?
  22. 1978 Blue Stars' baritone soloist in the closer.
