  1. Ever have green noodles? I did for about two weeks while touring . . . . and they were delicious.
  2. As long as the keys aren't mixed within the section, it would pose no problem.
  3. Carolina Crown is a crowd favorite because they are freaking good as ####!
  4. Why is no one picking Crown '93??? They won the Div II championships with that show and is very enjoyable to listen to.
  5. I am going to start a circuit and we will only march A horns. That way no one will argue.
  6. All I know is Crown and BD sure made those Bb/F horns sound like a bunch of really in tune G's this year.
  7. I am convinced that GH is the antichrist of the drum corps world.
  8. There is no such thing as a hornline that is too loud. '95 Scouts, however, was just loud enough and so was the very beginning of '96 BD.
  9. The addition of woodwinds would be an embarrassment to the activity for people like me.
  10. People are pansies these days. That's why the switch.
  11. Don Taylor- Very good brass instructor for Carolina Crown and Magic of Orlando.
  12. A drum and bugle corps is an organization you join when you realize you are better than everyone else in your marching band.
  13. Anyone ever see the South Park episode with Indiana Jones? I think I would probably feel the same way Stan and Kyle felt. GH is to drum corps what George Lucas and Spielberg are to their own movies.
  14. Mellophone lick in the middle of BD '93 show. It was so cool they had to play it 3 times.
  15. I have always liked Crown '94 baritone duets in El Salon Mexico.
  16. I'm wet, BD '94, right before "When a Man Loves a Woman. I'm dripping wet, '96 BD after the opener.
  17. I said stop the sound. You don't stop the air when you reverse it, you stop the sound by reversing the flow of air.
  18. We are talking about DRUM CORPS here. When you stop the sound with your tongue or with your throat or even by adjusting your embouchure, it changes the tone quality. I played bass trombone as well and I have never heard of continuing to blow air through your horn without buzzing. It seems absurd.
  19. Whenever you play, you are breathing out. If you were singing, would you stop the air from flowing or put your tongue in the way to stop the note? When you are playing the instrument, doesn't that instrument become a part of you? I think of the instrument as an extension of myself and play as if I were singing by way of my instrument. And so as to be more clear, BREATHE IN TO RELEASE.

    Lean back?

Blue Devils do it the best. In Crown, we had to do push ups if we leaned back.
  21. Whenever not breathing out, you should breathe in.
  22. It is only okay to yell, "I'm wet", or, "I'm still wet", or, "I'm dripping wet", during a drum corps show.
