  1. Weather today here in sunny California about 72 degrees, sunny (go figure) slight breeze off the ocean at about 7 knots. Forecast for today--room temperature.................
  2. I predict that the corps with a score that is higher than any of the other corps, will win DCI this year.
  3. Last I heard it explained to me, anything out of the norm is welcome as long as there's advanced interest or activity in that particular genre--for neato bosso drum lines to compete there needs to be maybe at least 5 or 6 units to make it a party. Not just one drum line. My guess is that if there's enough oddball corps going on then they should pull together to make a sub-circuit and SDCA would and should let you compete. I bet there's enough oddballs out there.....
  4. Day After? It merges right into St. Paddys Day--been that way for years I won't get a break 'till Thursday......
  5. No, Madonna didn't march, but Natalie Cole, Nat King Cole's daughter marched Kingsmen back in the day. Cool enough I guess.
  6. Oh no! There's a chance that I might be in one of those. I did that Rushmore swing on the way to Casper. Any way you can post more?
  7. Yes they did. I really liked those days. We didn't know what to expect from year to year, very exciting times.
  8. Looks like Dave K. and Moe from Blue Stars....'74 too.....my only year with them.....the 70's look so 70's.......
  9. When drum corps becomes about the music and execution again--that would make me happy.
  10. Thanks MaxwellNotes--that was the first year I/we made finals--
  11. I took a core sample of myself and found 8 rings. What is that in dog years?
  12. This is all happening now. You just have to find out what's in your area or where you're willing to go. Go here-- http://cdraferrara.tripod.com/ if you contact these folks just ask about other drum lines and small corps that want to be a part of them--there's more than what's on the web site.
  13. Ok, truth be told, the hot pants were very flattering and yielding but, I think there's a couple of other forces at play here. The boots were an integral part of the look, acting as the bottom part of the frame and the pants as the top--with the navy blue, tan, and white color scheme working well and boots providing the locomotion. Topped with a matching white turtle shell with a RED plume the look was undeniable. If they had say, black Trooper length boots, they would not look nearly as interesting. Well, maybe they would, but that's not the point!
  14. So I'm thinking we can meet in the middle--rollerblades and a concrete gridiron. (Drum roll, please) You can now twirl a guard member through a triple Lindy rather than fling the rifle itself. Judges can be rude eastern Europeans and Motorola.......
