We should all stop comparing corps, stop giving scores, and start giving participation ribbons.

They are very good. Very clean sound and articulation. To say "another level" is wrong. There will be other corps giving them a run come August.

I'm just going to let you read what you wrote right here. You dislike the staffs choice so your are going to denounce and root against s group of kids? That shows a lot about character. And there are more people in this activity than just those on this forum who marched one insignificant year in drum corps. Those people like the uniform.

Well Cadets did finish 3rd tonight. I think that means they will fold at the end of the season. [/joke]

I remember thinking the whole time "if they can keep this guy for 10-15 years he is going to grow and be a PHANTASTIC arranger." Very strong first outing and I am sure it will only get better. That feature with the four podiums? Those licks were far from easy and those kids nailed it.

Not sure the camera crew always lent itself to present the right things, so I feel I missed some of the story I missed out on. Love the music. Does anyone else feel that trombone solo could be a little raunchier? Little flutter tongue here and there to match the singer from moulin Rouge and that arrangement would have me in the palm of its hand.

Seeing lots of audio issues in here as well. Did anyone hear a small "clack" noise like a slapstick going off during loud parts? Assumed it was mic clipping but didn't know if it was our theater or everyone.

Knew I should have pulled out my stopwatch to see how long it would take the "s" word to appear. :)

WOW Cadets blew me away. What a year. When that pines lick on horn gets clean that will be a MOMENT. And that trombone intro in the upper Tessitura? Amazing. Love the trombone sound on the move. Can't wait to see how this show grows!!

Exactly. Anyone have favorite moments? One of mine was when they had the section feature blocks and instead of the normal hold still and play fast licks, they held still and flew across the field only when they started playing those beastly lines. Loved it.

And for good reason. I started seeing small flashes of the Cavies of old. I truly hope this a surge to their old power and precision. That would make the battle for the top even bigger.

Hopefully they will soon embrace the whole gold medal ######## :)

The only thing here that is trash is your opinion. Quite honestly the drum corps activity would be better without you and I seriously doubt you ever contributed anything worthwhile. I like the Bloo break from the norm. Allows for more acrobatics and flexibility I'd their movements.

"Accurate" predictions, 2016. A guide: 1) The corps you like most 2) The other cool corps 3) The one that makes sense kind of 4) The corps that audiences really liked but weren't up top this year 5) The surprise corps 6) The one of the top 5 from this year you liked the least 7-10) Pretty much the same from this year, to be safe I guess? 11) The corps that you think will surge because you saw a facebook post that your friend liked about a lot of vets returning next year and that's probably good right! 12) I don't know, because this one would be an upset to one this years' top 12 corps and gosh darn it, it is their turn! -------------------------------------------- 13-17) write names of the remaining corps in this range and throw darts because you don't know much about them other than you saying "oh that was cool" a few times in their shows 19-22) last four names, more darts because you had to look up who the last four are if you even cared to predict this far Now simply hit post, log off and find a more meaningful hobby until next May!

To be honest I don't want this to happen. I in no way trust their staff to do this show justice.

Looks like Bluecoats made some true believers tonight. So proud of all of these organizations. Fans always ask for an exciting year and for the winner on finals to be a big question mark before scores are read. They got just that.

I completely agree. I really am worried the crowd may not feel that way. I'm hoping both corps get very healthy applause to reward great seasons.

Usually I let rants be rants and move on, but you do need to know it is possible to play incredibly clean and still not have a large General Effect impact. Also, the first banner was used by Crown all the way back when they were 4th/5th. It did not add nor subtract anything in visual, but made for a cool effect when they revealed to be in a new set (those GE points I mentioned). The Cadets do not need to march less. They need to march better tonight and the scores SHOULD reflect that.
