  1. Thanks for the blow by blow. Sounds like this was a terrific show!!
  2. Thanks - your rankings are enjoyable and provide a refreshing perspective.!!
  3. on a different note... Loved Crown out west!! Please do again!!!
  4. Totally agree! These performers work so hard to improve their shows! People do have a right to boo if they want, but .. just because you have a right to pick your nose and fart in public doesn't mean you should.
  5. Pacific Crest - I saw pictures on their site - Clifton Forge
  6. The pictures from my kid's practice site are stunning!! What a beautiful area... to think I lived in Virginia for years and never got down there.. My loss.. Good luck to all the corps competing tomorrow!
  7. Can't believe this thread is still going on. Isn't it a bit early to throw in the towel? Gosh it's so close - I still think it is a going to come down to Sat in Indy. On another note: I would never boo a performer who has put in the time to compete in this activity: child, young adult or adult. These young(ish.. relative to me) beings give up weekends, summer and $$ to participate and produce a heck of a lot of enjoyment and goodwill for audiences all over the country. I'm keeping to my policy of never booing (I guess except when the Blue Coats are on because it's code for a cheer..). I see great things to clap for the corps that don't have my favorite show and I am going to continue to enjoy and support the activity and performers.
  8. Too bad DCI didn't put this one on the fan network.
  9. So did he? Why no pictures? Or were rumors of Clinton showing up highly exaggerated as are most things on dcp?
  10. The great thing about the South is that it is different and what a wonderful experience for kids from other parts of the country to go there. I went there several years ago as a cooking truck parent. No fancy stadium to rehearse in, just a field and a small bleachers but what charming and giving people. From the farmer who brought delicious watermelons for our parched kids to the young families and neighborhood folks who migrated in for the last run though of the day. This is what makes the drum corp experience so special in my opinion.
  11. I hope all the kids in non-BD corps dont feel the same. It's pretty dang close in many positions.
  12. These are interesting contests! Like to see all the competition and all the step up from each group!!
  13. watching them on the fan network. Like the new uniforms!!
  14. Bring lots of water, sunscreen, hats ... and enjoy! Oceanside was awesome last night!!! This one promises to bet hotter!
  15. I am glad to see Crown and BK out west. I cant wait to see them in Oceanside!
  16. Surf is so very entertaining .. they have the right idea ... now just grow the corps in a reasonable manner. Funds must be pouring in for Heavens sake! My kid is in another corps but I dont get happy texts when the score goes up, I get them when the crowd loves his show! These kids must be having the most fun ever and I am happy for them!
  17. A mag 7 earthquake hits Indy and all the other corps are to "shaken" to show up... but not BD because they are from earthquake country baby!
  18. So I am just curious.. how often do corps jump over an intermission in score? By that I mean the last (or any) scores higher than the first (or any) in the next segment after the intermission. I think the break is a great advantage to the bottom of the next set.
  19. Agree .. this happens to the west coast corps often... funny how that works...
  20. As a parent I appreciate the commentary. I always grow to love the show my kid's corp puts out and don't understand what the judges are judging sometimes. It helps to get perspective. As far as I can tell the blog is positive and constructive. I liked when he had a co blogger at one of the events last year. I appreciate it and am not overly concerned of the bias worry which I dont really notce at all.
