  1. I actually loved the show. The dissonance set me on edge in a good way and the resolution into Laura was brilliant. I was kind of speaking in general and referring to those who want melodies spoon fed to them. It was not the most crowd friendly show.
  2. With the exception of 2010 there has been recognizable music in BD’s programs, imo.
  3. Supposedly there was a reorganization of Pioneer’s BoD but there hasn’t been any announcement of a plan of action in regards to reapplying for DCI membership.
  4. Except Pioneer didn’t get rid of the problem. Maybe on paper they did but I’m willing to bet he’s still running things. Oh well, they’re history regardless.
  5. I’ve been watching the interviews with drum majors on the DCI YouTube channel and so far counted three who attend UWEC. Scouts, Crown and Bloo. There must be some professors there that support drum corps. I have bad memories of the place when I attended for two years way back. (my bassoon professor had severe dementia)
  6. Argh...I can’t find a fist shaking emoji.
  7. Some fan somewhere might just yell out “They were born ready” thinking they were clever in coining that phrase.
  8. I hope you’re right. DCI is better when the Scouts slay.
  9. “Edgy” might have worked. I thought exactly the opposite and would have described the arrangement as neutered.
  10. Justin Vernon is the person. Bon Iver is the band.
  11. I tried sending you a message but apparently you can’t receive them? That seemed odd.
  12. I know he was kidding, it just wasn’t funny. No feud, I just think he tries too hard in his attempts to be clever. There have been times when I’ve nearly spit my drink from reading one of his quips.
  13. I would think someone with their own health issues would have some empathy for others. Ever hear of analphylactic shock? I do have to give you credit for the gymnastics you performed just to mock a legitimate medical condition.
  14. Warmer sound? It seems to be a thing with many pro French horn players.
  15. Yes! Imagine a corps being able to capture the emotion of that film.
  16. I’m indifferent to it which in my mind is worse considering how the Cadets elicit strong responses, good and bad.
  17. They also sponsored the Ted Mack Amateur Hour. There must have been a lot of geriatrics with “iron poor blood” to support Geritol’s advertising budget.
  18. If anyone thought you were out of line they really are the definition of a safe space seeking snowflake. Lol
  19. I wasn’t very familiar with this band but thought the same. I’m old.
  20. This statement doesn’t even make sense. Like what sets the two apart is with whom they may or may not collaborate? I don’t think I’m able to roll my eyes enough. Lol.
  21. What band was popular when you were marching? If your corps had the chance to collaborate with that band would it also be insipid and make you throw up?
  22. It’s one thing to make a joke but I would get upset if someone edited my post in order to do so.
