  1. In additional to the replies above, I would imagine they meet all DCI criteria for being such and choose to compete and measure themselves against the very best.
  2. This place gets more and more like The Waltons every day, doesn't it? G'nite John Boy G'nite Grandpa Ma? Grandpa's not breathing.
  3. He was, as we say here at work, given the opportunity to pursue other message board opportunities.
  4. I saw that YT vid from Tomball and heard you loud and clear. WTG, you're officially an influencer!
  5. @Weaklefthand4ever They're in your 'hood. Or you already on site and drooling? šŸ˜
  6. Not bad. I would have gone with Oil of Olathe.
  7. Geez, what did those kids pay for a 2 1/2 week long season? If I read DCI's schedule correctly, all 12 Open Class corps in Prelims will be in Finals. Assuming they take 12 finalists.
  8. A 2 pt spread is the drum corps equivalent of Reagan vs Mondale.
  9. I'm not sure DCP would allow 99% of its users to all change their screen names to TheOneWhoKnowsDiddlySquat. ( said with a tip of the hat to TheOneWhoKnows)
  10. Bring back the spy balloon, fly it over Bloo's camp and do something good for a change, ya lousy Commies.
  11. Dang Canadians are still PO'd about Oakland Crusaders winning drums in 77 prelims and not making finals.
  12. Headgear continues to make a comeback. Very nice.
  13. I still want a little Bully, but any nostalgia with a new flair is welcome. The larger guard is also very welcome. Bring it on, Green Machine.
  14. Maybe that's the whole key to the ABBD vs BDHomer feud. Brock friggin Purdy. Bay Boy, Bay Corps Very popular, very Purdy
  15. Again, just throwing this out there as I know as little about today's DCI as the Man in the Moon, but how much of Madison's or for that matter anyone's comback/making the top 12 driven by these corps themselves (staff, management, talent, finances etc) and how much of it is DCI's (seemingly to my untrained eye anyway) culture, structure, (I'll call it) "favoritism" to the current top corps because of haves/have nots situations and good ol' boy network who (again seemingly to me) are perfectly content having only very slight changes to the top 12 year after year? Just asking because I really don't know. I used to like the times when year after year, yeah, you could take a reasonable guess at the top 3 or 4, but the bottom eight was more often than not a case of who's going to squeeze in this year who no one saw coming? Bleu Raders, Belleville Black Knights, Commodores, Purple Lancers, North Star, heck even the Guardsmen for example. How does Madison, SOA, Academy and PC battle that?
  16. Any ever done by the Kingsmen, 27th or multiple M&M caption winning Troopers. More recently - anyone doing one to the big ending of Appalachian Spring.
  17. That's something I hadn't thought of, but I think you're right. I'm no musical genius by any means ( I am a weird drummer, remember ), but I'm still not seeing all the references to this show being so "Different Phantom". To me, it sounds like the PR I've always known, respected and loved. It's not such more the scores being played or who wrote them as it is the heart behind it all being played for me.
  18. Whispering to self.. Snark(y) is such a cool word. Wish that'd been my nickname in drum corps.
  19. You'll have no trouble whatsoever finding other dinos. We'll even show you the secret handshake. All the best in your recovery,
