  1. I'm not sure DCP would allow 99% of its users to all change their screen names to TheOneWhoKnowsDiddlySquat. ( said with a tip of the hat to TheOneWhoKnows)
  2. Bring back the spy balloon, fly it over Bloo's camp and do something good for a change, ya lousy Commies.
  3. Dang Canadians are still PO'd about Oakland Crusaders winning drums in 77 prelims and not making finals.
  4. Headgear continues to make a comeback. Very nice.
  5. I still want a little Bully, but any nostalgia with a new flair is welcome. The larger guard is also very welcome. Bring it on, Green Machine.
  6. Maybe that's the whole key to the ABBD vs BDHomer feud. Brock friggin Purdy. Bay Boy, Bay Corps Very popular, very Purdy
  7. Again, just throwing this out there as I know as little about today's DCI as the Man in the Moon, but how much of Madison's or for that matter anyone's comback/making the top 12 driven by these corps themselves (staff, management, talent, finances etc) and how much of it is DCI's (seemingly to my untrained eye anyway) culture, structure, (I'll call it) "favoritism" to the current top corps because of haves/have nots situations and good ol' boy network who (again seemingly to me) are perfectly content having only very slight changes to the top 12 year after year? Just asking because I really don't know. I used to like the times when year after year, yeah, you could take a reasonable guess at the top 3 or 4, but the bottom eight was more often than not a case of who's going to squeeze in this year who no one saw coming? Bleu Raders, Belleville Black Knights, Commodores, Purple Lancers, North Star, heck even the Guardsmen for example. How does Madison, SOA, Academy and PC battle that?
  8. Any ever done by the Kingsmen, 27th or multiple M&M caption winning Troopers. More recently - anyone doing one to the big ending of Appalachian Spring.
  9. That's something I hadn't thought of, but I think you're right. I'm no musical genius by any means ( I am a weird drummer, remember ), but I'm still not seeing all the references to this show being so "Different Phantom". To me, it sounds like the PR I've always known, respected and loved. It's not such more the scores being played or who wrote them as it is the heart behind it all being played for me.
  10. Whispering to self.. Snark(y) is such a cool word. Wish that'd been my nickname in drum corps.
  11. You'll have no trouble whatsoever finding other dinos. We'll even show you the secret handshake. All the best in your recovery,
  12. I was wondering when we were going to get around to arguing football and can all this drum corps talk nonsense.
  13. Mostly agree wrt fans moving away from the activity, but also I think another factor is, we all have so many other choices and opportunities to explore/support/become a fan of than we did BITD. We're all busy as get out with work, families, getting just getting through life. In my own case, I was away from drum corps for nearly 25 years before I was re-born and became a huge fan of the activity again. The changes, the music, the props, the theatre, yeah, bugged me a little bit at first, but now I can't imagine drum corps without those things. I still have likes and dislikes, but overall, I wouldn't change anything big about today's drum corps. What was I doing all those lost years? Having a career, a family and just getting through life. How to compete with all of life's other choices is the problem for drum corps and thousands of other activities.
  14. I'll see your bump and raise you an oh crap, I'd better get Flo going again. It's almost here.
  15. Wowza. Pure PR passion and emotion taken to an even higher level. Have a tissue handy when you watch this on the field. It's going to bring tears to the eye. Will it score well? Who knows, I don't care. That's a friggin drum corps the way I like to see them. Color me very impressed.
  16. Bring me back a lot of 2021-type shows all up and down DCI. The most all-around fun show year top to bottom evah. Entertain me.
  17. Are those things open on the top? I could never pull that off with this shiny dome I call a scalp.
  18. There should be more 30 second snare solos. What Bloo did during Lucy was unprecedented, not to mention some wild azz stuff.
  19. And all of us DCP Dinos are very appreciative of PR's recognition.
  20. BITD there was a lot of smoke around drum corps, but it was more the Cheech and Chong variety, not Canadian wildfires.
  21. I tend to side with Greg. If it brings even a little positivity among all the doom and gloom, let them honor their inductees. However, if it breaks out into an all-out free for all bickerfest among the alum, I reserve the right to change my opinion.
