  1. Kinda feel like there should have been some more leaks by now...
  2. Per Cascades' website, there will be some PNW shows this coming season: https://www.seattlecascades.org/single-post/dci-tour-returns-to-the-pacific-northwest
  3. "Where is the love?" Let's be real- it feels like there is very little to love about drum corps these days.
  4. What'll it look like? Probably even shorter than last year.
  5. As a former member of that corps, I wish them luck. They're going to need it.
  6. Thank you. Just because addresses and such may be "publicly available" does not justify just posting them willy-nilly on a site like Reddit, particularly in a case like this.
  7. Typical service deadlines are 30 days in most jurisdictions, so I expect that'll be the timetable we see it in.
  8. On that note... TLDR version- both Spirit and DCI are being sued over the events that led to Spirit's suspension a couple years back.
  9. https://www.npr.org/2023/10/06/1202625059/extreme-heat-marching-bands While the article focuses on marching bands, it's certainly applicable to drum corps as well.
  10. One problem with the "Push for all grass fields" approach is that the NFLPA probably isn't going to be able to get an agreement on field standards- ie what kind grass mixture, structure, etc. gets put in place and there are some notoriously cheap NFL owners out there, so the players might GET all stadiums to go to grass but there'd be different standards applied, so some fields would no doubt turn out pretty good and others would turn out crap (or stay crap, ie Soldier Field).
  11. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38391956/after-aaron-rodgers-injury-nflpa-calls-grass-all-stadiums
  12. To be fair, there's only one NFL stadium (Lucas Oil) where this would typically matter each year as far as DCI goes but Indy obviously wasn't built with carting its field in and out in mind like State Farm Stadium or Allegiant Field were.
  13. Yeah, sinkhole aside, Bloomington did a great job as a backup plan in '08 and I'm sure would do so again.
  14. No, it would absolutely be a bad thing. Just look at how poorly AI tends to perform in other areas. Now apply that to DCI and tell me you honestly think it'll be better.
  15. As a fellow dinosaur, I'd salute you, but I have tiny arms 😆 Like you, I've gotten bored with the absolute lack of parity at the top of the scoring chain and show design getting more and more obtuse and less musically focused. 2016 was the last year I recall attending DCI and to be honest I really haven't missed it.
  16. Pretty sure there's a bylaw that says that they get to win at least 2 titles every 3 years.
  17. Doesn't really matter what I want to see. They're going to do what they want and win another title regardless.
  18. #### like these threads is the prime reason I no longer have much interest in drum corps these days.
  19. No longer listed on DCI's schedule page as of today.
  20. Wouldn't surprise me much at this point. Aside from Salem, Virginia has not had much luck staging shows for many years.
  21. Anyone got any leads on where this show is going to take place (or if it's even still happening at this point)? Been listed as "TBD" on DCI's site for months, haven't seen any solid details on the participating corps' sites so far and this close to the season starting, that usually means that it's not happening and they just haven't taken it down yet.
