If you *know* who it is.... please wait a while (not everyone is on here all day or even daily for that matter)

If there have been no Guesses..........Then give a *challenging* hint.

When giving hints on these try to be creative and just dangle the tiniest tidbit. Make people really think / work on it. Then wait it out a while before tossing another tiny vague tidbit...

C'mon we've got to make these last a little longer. PLEASE??

Also, any comments made MUST be made in good taste... this is a fun loving thread... not a revenge match. Please spew your venom elsewhere.

Please submit any questions and / or pics in their full size (preferably JPG format), with full description - names, Corps, Stadium, Year... etc. to:

The *Guess Who* Mailbox

Thanx in advance!

All that said and out of the way..

Hey, if he wasn't a "Rookie".... :giljotiini:/>/>

( I just called him a "Rookie"!!!) :felloff:/>/> :lol:/>/>

Well...Ok, he's a "Guess Who Rookie" :bleah:/>/>

But, on the field / stage... :thumbup:/>/> :worthy:/>/>

Welcome aboard! Buckle up and stick around... you'll probably enjoy the festivities.

LOL - I'm sorry! I (incorrectly) thought this cat was out of the bag!

Can you actually balance a leg-rest snare that way? Shadow reveals someone nearby, but not close enough to be bracing the drum.

The horn is a valve/rotor, possibly an Olds G/F, c. 1972. The player in question is reclining, but probably not on dirt or concrete. My guess is the track around a field, or possibly the original carpet form of Astro Turf.

The specs are vintage '70s and he clearly relishes a few minutes in the sun, indicating a resident of a northern climate who appreciates any summer he can get.

What do you think, Watson?

Well Holmes, early 70's is a good bet ... the drum is a vintage Lugwig 10 lug Challenger - complete with cat gut snares ... must have been placed there by another horn player because any slight breeze will topple it over ... not too many places with astroturf at that time ... possible Hofstra?

Back to you Watson ...

:-)

Quite an extraordinary bit of detecting by you two but you're ignoring one very important point. The subject is smiling, which was not allowed on the East Coast. I sense that he is either from further west, or something is happening in the part of the picture to which we are not privvy.

that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Hmmmm ... you might have a point there Rainman ... but ... since the majority of the pics posted on GW are East Coast oriented, and you're the furthest West guesser, I'm figuring it ain't from the Left Coast ...
