Fran Haring
I think Archer-Epler's "Musketeer March" and the Buccaneers' "Affair to Remember"-themed corps song are two of the most stirring corps songs ever. I never get tired of hearing those songs! Fran
Jamesdrum007
It's the newer, wiser, friendlier Chris. Don't you know where I work? :P No, actually I don't. So, where DO you work?

Jamesdrum007
Joey(the BEST DM onthe planet) Eduardo Wow, Joe Eduardo. Now there is a blast from the past. Yes, Joe was truly a class act - both on and off the field. We truly respected him. Is he still around, and in touch with drum corps? JimF-LowBari
Westshoremen (tune of The Happy Wanderer) (started before 1974)Oh We're the corps from Harrisburg ('corps' used to be 'boys') You've heard so much about and we're the corps that drinks the beer ('boys' again) Whenever we go out Valdaree valdarah valdaree valda rah hah hah hah hah hah Valdaree valdarah Whenever we go out So Mother's hide your daughters And hide your sister's too (some females add a few words that I never caught) Cuz we don't care what happens We're the corps in Satin Blue (Black and blue/powder blue/royal blue as the uni changed) Valdaree valdarah valdaree valda rah hah hah hah hah hah Valdaree valdarah Whenever we go out Whenevvvveeerrrr weeee goooo ouuuuuuuutttttttttt Been informed by a certain 2nd generation Westshoremen (and the corps historian) that the original version goes back to the 1950s. That would be back in the days of male only, over 21 and possibly almost all veterans (corps competed at AL/VFW shows). Now sung by both sexes, all age and veteran status not needed. Now THAT'S good progress.
esmenbari
If Statesmen has an "official" corps song, I've never heard/sang it. There are some particularly memorable other songs... but I won't get into that here ...Let's just say my first long bus ride (Rochester to Wildwood, NJ) was both educational and hilarious. I wouldn't trade my drum corps experience for anything in the world.

Jimbalaya
Just an aside and maybe something that could be better addressed on the Bus Songs thread.......back in the before time.......at after contest parties, corps would entertain each other (some would) with all kinds of skits, song, etc. One prime instigator was Archie, known for it's song and skits. We'd get all in attendance to sing every song we could think of or get others to think of. One thing that always got the party started was a George M. medley, which started with "Give My Regards to Broadway" and ended with "Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag".... Just curious how many of youse guys remember those parties and the songs (and camraderie) that we all shared? J
