BigSnareline
I'm really interested to see what the guard will be wearing! Hopefully, they won't look like the cast of "Rent", like so many other guards these days. Wouldn't it be nice if some corps - any corps outfitted their guard in something that at least resembles the corps uniform? MikeN
'98 Scouts and Cavaliers come to mind for that. Honestly, though, even a contrasting uniform can work quite nicely, though, if the colors (and the drill) are written with care. It's just been so long since most corps guard looked like they belong on the same field with the rest of the corps. I know everything has to be all artsy fartsy now but I bet a color guard in an actual uniform could score just as well as one in some frilly - sequin covered spandex suit. My one negative on the Blue Knights guard costume last year was that it too closely matched the corps colors, and IMO they got a bit lost on the field when not holding a flag...though their flags were as always VERY beautiful. I tend to like contrasting colors on the guard these days, though just watch....this year someone will hae a complimentary color and I'll love it! jwillis35
I love the DM unis and the corps proper as well. Absolutely incredible look. Very classy. Under the lights on a field these things are going to shine and sparkle like only a few corps uniforms can (I love the BD and Bluecoats look as well). Reminds me of Cadets 1997. I mean it wasn't exactly like the uniform, but I liked it. Kinda added a "playful" (for lack of a better word) side to the uniform. FTNK
I liked how last year's guard wear borrowed little visual motifs from the corps proper uniform.
gbass598
i don't have anything to add, so i'll post a picture from 1961 which is completely amazing: edit: changed "######" (poorly behaved donkey) to "amazing" I can't believe I see someone in the back holding their shako like a bucket. rhythmaniacs
I kinda like the new look...however, the pants seem to be just a little too long!
