How about the opening to the finale of Tchaikovsky's "4th Symphony" with the entire horn line playing the runs?

Well, they did have the whole soprano line playing those 16ths in the 1999 version. You want the low brass doing that too?

they NEED to play Massenets 'Meditation' (from Thais) as a ballad.... before someone else does, it would fit them PERFECTLY, especially if they have an amazing solo performer like this year. look it up on a site that rhymes with bootoob

Everyone who has made suggestions about next year's show is out of luck. By LAW they have to play Janacek's "Sinfonietta" next year.

...at least that's my reading of the current legal statutes.

Hmmmm.

For next year, I'm thinking the logical next step would be...

Some kind of French Revolution show.

Complete with a Guillotine.

Yeah, that would be perfect.

I keep sayin' Symphonie Fantastique Phantastique. I mean, come on. You have...

IV. Marche au supplice (March to the scaffold). That's gotta be close enough, yeah? And as an added bonus there is...

V. Songe d'une Nuit de Sabbat (Dream of a Witches' Sabbath)

Maybe even throw in Witch Hunt by Rush for some extra oomph!

Carmina Burana

I have wanted them to do this show since I can remember. There is tons of great music in the twenty some odd movements.

Plus it would give them an excuse to bring back the balck uniforms (sorry I marched in them and am a little biased).

For everyone that has mentioned a Spartacus Part II type show, or even a Requiem relating back to Spartacus............please - for the love of God - NOOOOOOOOOOOO

See Cadets 2005, 2006 for reference.

Spartacus was magical, and superb - let it be - it will stand in its place in history as one of the all time greatest drum corps shows, period.

For those wanting re-do (Fire of Eternal glory, Fantastique, etc...) - I'd say no again. We just had a re-do and it went great. Now we need to do something different, and maybe do a re-do in 3 years on their 55th anniversary - or wait a bit longer for their 60th. (which is my preference). Of course, we'll have to end the show on the 60th with the chevron again.....duh!

Regiment will amaze me with whatever Paul and JD pick out.

PS. Don't throw the leg wedge move in again for another 3-5 years as well. We all know that was added in On Air at the end to try and bump GE just enough over Billy Joel to get the bronze. (Which it should have anyway without the move!)
