KeithHall
Six years in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman/K-9 handler. I even was able to teach a German Drum and Bugle Corps in the 1980's and they won the DCD Championship. I started out walking with a dog waiting for the Baader-Meinhof Gang and the Red Army Faction to attack us and then transferred to Seneca Army Depot in NY where I served on an SRT (Special Reaction Team) where we were "loaded for bear." I learned alot of techniques however I hope never to use them as a school teacher. I also spent a total of 3 and a half years in Germany which was fun and challenging. I was able to ski alot and visit Austria, The Netherlands and Belgium. Edited September 11, 2008 by KeithHall
JimF-LowBari
Funny as I was asked this last night when I told someone what I did for a living.... Total civilian but 28+ years working for the US Navy. Ultimately answer to officers in uniform and have worked at multiple bases putting up computers and new software. Did get to be on the USS Nimitz carrier at Puget Sound while it was being refurbished after Gulf War I. Dad spent most the the 1950s in the Army Corps of Engineers: mainly Korea during the war and working on the DEW (Defense Early Warning) system at Fort Churchill, Manitoba.
