madalumni
Well I am taking the old wait and see approach. Ramiro has proven to be a great Program Coordinator with a great design staff under him. I think they will use the synths tastefully and it could really enhance the show nicely. I feel the same way about narration. There are corps that have used it well and it worked with their show concept. But there are other Corps that have over-used it to the point of distraction. I have a good feeling that the Scouts won't use it to the point of distraction. Edited October 15, 2008 by madalumni
FrontGuy07
the fact that it took so long for the topic to get back onto the synth makes me laugh really hard lol
4181jay
They already have ... twice. And the World didn't come to an end either time. I was hoping the winking smiley would give the joke away....
MikeD
the fact that it took so long for the topic to get back onto the synth makes me laugh really hard lol Are we sure the OP meant the synth, as he DID specify the second sentence. Just trying to get the thread back off track.
KeithHall
Here's what an "old school" dude has to say.... This stuff has been happening for a while now so accept it! If you don't like all the changes, don't go to anymore shows. Support DCA because they don't use narration or synthesizers. I am on both sides of the fence on this because some of this "new technology" in drum corps is pretty neat. Open your mind.

CoHmempho04
I can understand the whole everyone audition thing. I mean if there are all returning members and they had 150 members (minus a few holes for injuries). How are you going to put the synth player if everyone has a horn, drumsticks or flag in their hands!

The only goodthing about the Scouts and a synth in the corps is that it is the Scouts. Garfield and a synth will have the boards blasting for the rest of the season. Madison does it, and we will hear how great the idea is. Since you like Madison, it should be great for you.

Well I am an Alum, so yeah, I guess I'm biased just a little. But like I said, I have faith they will use it tastefully. bawker
Wow. Fail. So much for the ol' "change things from the inside" deal . . .now it's stay in that Top 12, no matter what.
