frontline99
It' basically becoming the top 40 radio of drum corps. They've found their target demographic and they're going for it. I suppose you have to look at this as a recruiting tool. From that angle it makes sense to have more recent shows. 2008 Phantom Regiment Spartacus 2008 Carolina Crown FINIS 2007 Bluecoats Criminal 2006 The Cavaliers MACHINE 2006 Bluecoats connexus 2005 Phantom Regiment Rhapsody 2005 Madison Scouts The Carmen Project 2004 Santa Clara Vanguard ATTRACTION: The Music of Scheherazade 2004 The Cadets Living With The Past Music of Jethro Tull 2003 Blue Devils The Phenomenon of Cool 2003 The Cadets Our Favorite Things 2003 Phantom Regiment Harmonic Journey

jjeffeory
Wow, While there are many good shows from the time period they are allowing us to pick from, I don't think we'll be going this year. This is not what I'd really want to see on the big screen. I would choose more variety. What a disappointment. I've supported the Countdown for so long by bringing in my group of 10 or so people, but I just don't think DCI wants my support any longer. I'm sure they have replaced us already. Best of luck, DCI. EndzoneEric
I've supported the Countdown for so long by bringing in my group of 10 or so people, but I just don't think DCI wants my support any longer. C'mon, man. Do you REALLY think they don't want your support? You, personally? They want (and need) a lot of support. So, they take a poll, they find out that a decent number of people would rather see and hear better quality video and audio than those who would rather see older shows, so they provide a program accordingly. My bet is that the "average" Countdown theater attendee doesn't own the really old "classic" stuff, and is more interested in seeing video that looks more modern. Sorta like HBO gets more viewers than the old Turner Classic Movie channel. It's really not about "you." It's about DCI trying to appeal to the largest potential audience who might attend a mid-week movie theater show. One thing we agree upon: Best of luck, DCI. Best of luck trying to be all things to all people. Obviously you've failed jj.
