trumpetcam
So, If you could have one person to put on your staff, the person who would give you the BEST chance to win a title, who would it be? Let's talk legendary teachers that you would hire to help get your corps over the top. It could be Brass, i.e. Wayne Downey, Donnie Van Doren, Freddy Martin, Jim Ott, Frank Williams, etc. Or it could be Visual: Steve Brubaker, George Zingali, John Brazale, etc. Or Percussion: Tom Float, Fred Sanford, Thom Hannum, Dennis DeLucia, etc. You only get one pick and who would make your corps have the best chance to win the title? My pick is Wayne Downey for all his brass trophies and arranging and cutting edge music over the years. I guess, as a caveat, this would have to include the legendary Jack Meehan, who was Wayne's alter-ego for many years and equally responsible for many of the great BD horn lines. A true dream tag team of teachers. Oh shoot, I said one pick! Sorry. Who's next?
wvu80
Wayne Downey. My very close second pick would be George Hopkins.

mfrontz
Fantastic question and illustrates the difficulty of picking just one. I'm going to go a different direction and say Jeff Fiedler. Assembling the team is at least as important as being part of it. I am very interested to see if he can bring SCV back to the top. I'm sure, even though his roots and heart are with Cavies, that he is enjoying the challenge.

BRASSO
If it was to introduce Drum Corps to the world at large, to an audience that knew little about Drum Corps and were not Music Majors or Dance Majors in College, and Titles were not what you were after, so much as developing a " WOW " factor and putting LOTS of new found fans in the seats, then I 'd go with.............. Scott Stewart , Larry Kerchner, Jim Wedge, Dennis DeLucia, and George Zingalli. But since you asked for " one person ", I 'd say.....Scott Stewart.
