garfield
Oh, and the '94 PR ballad would have been a closer second if it weren't for the two frack attacks in the sops and the fact that it was a steal from '93. But what about those drum lines! Did you notice that '95 PR's pit extended a total of about 11 yards wide, while today their reaching 20 yards wide? Wow, all the "stuff" we have today. And what about '94's pit in center left field? Why'd they stop doing that? Other than pit music coming exclusively out of my left speaker I thought the visual effect was outstanding. Just my 2 cents. euphononium
placing the pit on the field totally wrecks the listening environment for the whole corps. many have tried it once or twice, but find that the hassle is not worth it anymore. Now I'm a drummer so excuse the question, but how does placing the pit on the field wreck the environment? This is not a challenge; as a battery guy I doubt I could hear the pit no matter where they are. What's it like for horn players?
ajlemm
C'mon, what about 2006 Phantom Regiment? Good stuff!!!

festive
Fire of Eternal Glory is something legendary. It might well be the best ballad ever, but why choose? I also love 94, 95, 00, 04, and 07. Nobody but nobody does a drum corps ballad like Phantom Regiment.
DCImonkey
07 Flower Duet was waayyy too fast. Ruined it for me. Regiment's ballads do so much for me 93 - Fire of Eternal Glory 04 - Oblivion 03 - The Lords Prayer 03 - Sanctus (Canon opener) 06 - Ave Maria (The best part of this show) 95 - Variations/Paganini 08 - Love Theme from Spartacus 91 - Nessun Dorma
chaos001
94 reg93 reg 00 scv and I'm not sure others will agree but I really enjoy 95 bd's ballad i'm disowning you. '93 gives me afterglow...but the one i secretly enjoy is Journey Through the Snow from The Nutcracker in '87. a shout out to Transfigured Night from '00. Overtones for days. i definitely agree that NO ONE does a ballad like Regiment. Edited October 7, 2009 by chaos001
