hostrauser
BACK-TO-BACK SWEEPS! Glory of Music crushes the competition in London! Glory of Aurora had the toughest go off it in Class A, fending off perennial powerhouse Cross by only 0.635. Glory of Bellatrix put some distance between themselves and the other Open Class pursuers on this European kick, winning Open by over 1.500. And Glory of Polaris breezed to victory in World Class by almost 2.5 points on the strength of a powerful musical performance. The Glory of Music corps will spend the next two days sight-seeing in London (with a little practice thrown in) before taking the Chunnel to France for their next show on Tuesday in Paris. We'll savor the moment, but there's still plenty of season left. We can only hope to be in the same position in Nashville next month.
DeCellR8
Can anybody tell me why I would have a 0.25 penalty from last nights show? We here at MN Madness are some what upset about this because it was not explained to us!

StarOrg
Congrats to our friends Glory of Music. Impressive sweep of back to back shows. 85! Polaris kicked it out of the park. Jupiter is in transition right now with some major revamps of "The Bells" section. Cross continues to improve but still needs to work on ensemble musically. Both corps are touring Paris today with the Paris show tomorrow night. Hawaii is really performing well. Only .3 from tops in "World" Class in Miami. The corps didn't stick around for the Super Bowl. They are booking it back all the way up to for Tuesday night show in Cleveland. Hmm.. the way I see it a FANFARE corps sits atop all 3 Divisions right now. Chris Rohn
The Detroit show was complimentary to the Corps of Unspecified Identity and Dude, Where's My Corps? last night. Not quite as much for The Detroit City Council but it felt good for everyone to perform on their home turf. The Corps of Unspecified Identity performed their 'Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works Vol.2' show extremely well, and actually got some applause at the end of their performance. It has been a slow start for the corps, but considering the depth and complexity of the material, the kids are really starting to grab on and take ownership of this show. Dude, Where's My Corps? entertained the crowd with their rock and roll show this year, complete with a rock band in the front ensemble and a saxophone quartet during the pre-show. Starting the show with Dave Matthews Band's 'Where are you going?' led nicely into 'Vanished' by the band Crystal Castles. Steadily increasing the tempo through the show with 'Where Are You' by Our Lady Peace and closing out their show with 'Gonna Find You' by Operation Ivy. The music was entertaining and the play of the song titles had everyone looking for where their corps was by the end of the show! While the City Council was booed due to their excessive traveling and 5-star hotel stays in places like Aberdeen, London, and Paris tonight, their performance still was pretty good considering the fact they have been on a plane the last week more than they have been on the field. Their show is jammin' with hip hop this season and has been keeping most crowds bouncing during their performances with selections like, 'Financial Status' by GET LOW PLAYAZ, 'Livin' In Debt' by THADDEUS CARLTON, 'Glory Days' by JUST JACK and 2 Q's 4 LIFE 'It Over'. They have quite a schedule to adhere to for the remainder of the month, before heading to Nashville for championships: FEB 09 - Paris FRA FEB 10 - Pittsburgh PA FEB 11 - Rotterdam NL FEB 12 - Trois Rivieries QUE FEB 13 - Berlin GER FEB 15 - Maui HI FEB 16 - Fairfax VA FEB 18 - Sandusky OH FEB 19 - Costa Mesa CA FEB 22 - Joplin MO FEB 24 - Edmond OK FEB 26 - Clarkston GA FEB 28 - Orlando FL There was some confusion for the fans because pre-season we had booked the Wayne State University Warrior Stadium (http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...t&p=2635681) and that's how we had our tickets printed, but once Bill Ford made Ford Field available to us at no cost it was decided to move the show indoors. Hopefully the corps will be able to continue the upward momentum they started last night. Edited February 9, 2010 by Chris Rohn

Galen
Note to self- corps only get better when you update captions. Fortunately we took care of that little problem tonight and addressed some key areas for Kadence, Providence and LWC. Don't know if the changes will kick in for tonight's shows, but if not, they'll certainly be in place for the Global Championships this weekend
