I don't know much about DCA history but over all I would have to say Cabs as well. They are like the Cadets of DCI!

I saw that Keith said "consistent" so as I am partially biased and know that Empire hasn't been out of the top 4 in 20+ years, I would have us second or third.

I'm not exactly clear on this poll what you are asking.

In addition, not to be a stick in the mud, but many/most people don't bother reading the question and simply see their corps name there and click on it.

There is no science behind them and the results are very rarely accurate. So for if its purely for entertainment purises then...................the choice is clear.............Phantom Vanguard

Those are fighting words...

It pains me deeply to have to admit this because I've always been a life long SKY fan (Hy and the boys - best brass sound I ever heard -JMO) but in all honesty and fairness, I had to go with the Spanish Knights. No other corps (junior or senior) has ever approached their winning ways.

Like Tom Peashey said.... all-time on the senior/all-age corps side of life, it's Caballeros, hands down. That trophy display at Post 199 tells the tale.

Since DCA's first title show in 1965, the Bucs were in Finals every year through 1993.... dropped out in 1994 and '95, back in for 1996 (10th place), 9th in 1997, then in the top five every year since 1998.

Soooo.... all-time, Cabs.

DCA era... Cabs, followed by Bucs.

Statesmen have had a great "Top Four" run since 1988.... but since they've only been on the scene since '83, I've gotta stay with the Cabs and Bucs here.

Forget Phantom Vanguard.... forget the Toileteers.... forget the Blousemen...... forget the Stealthmen.... forget Spirit of Goldstein.....

My sleeper pick for overall consistency is the 1981 Ski Mask Cadets.

The corps was consistently bad during its one, and so far, only performance.

The Cabs' consistent placement at or near the top makes this a no-brainer of a question. Bucs to me an obvious 2nd -- take out those lean years in the mid-90s and you wouldn't have a slam-dunk for Hawthorne. I guess Bucs have come back, eh?

Harder to quantify but more interesting to me is to ask who has made the most impact on the activity or has set standards that raised the level of the activity or pushed it in a new direction. Certainly the Brigs of the late 90s and early 00s. Certainly the Bucs of the late 70s and early 80s, and unquestionably the Bucs of today. I'm sure every 'generation' has one or two corps that, looking back, we can say didn't just win, but made a mark on the activity.

Amazing history in this activity!

This will be great to have archived.

As for lowest scores ever received... they will have to go back to the tick era for sure as you now get 40 or more if the bus driver finds the stadium.. I can remember plenty of 20's but am having a hard time going into the teens...

I'll almost guarantee you that I was - unfortunately - part of the lowest score ever received by a MAJOR finalist corps when Brigs scored 35 and change in 1970 - a score that I believe was unjustified to this day. Some judges just got carried away due to an incomplete, not prepared show. That score killed this proud corps. Had this not happened, I guarantee we would have been in the 60's the following week, but that was not to happen. The current system is far more forgiving and starting the season in the high 50's is a lot more paletable than a 35.

Right you are Tom. I remember being thrown under the bus with Grenadiers on several occasions in the early 70's. We actually won a show and one of the few times we finished ahead of Guelph I might add and scored under a 50. There was a tabulation error a result of blurred vision from counting tics and it was annouced incorrectly only to find out later we had finished 1st!

Well since I started the low score sub-plot guess I'd better explain. Especially since I didn't mean it as an insult (holy crap didn't realize the Buccs had a score that low).

When Westshoremen came back from being inactive, our first competition was week before 1974 DCA Weekend Sunday. Ended up with a 37.35 which supposedly was the lowest DCA score at the time. Legend was the score should have been lower but execution judges ran out of room on the sheets for tic marks (long story how the sheets were laid out) and/or drum line zeroed out on execution.

Since then the record has been broken but maybe we still have the "biggest score gap between placings" record of 28.4.
