bdevil08
You:A. never marched and have no idea how insensitive your comments are to the kids in BD who bust their butts. B. Are a complete jerk and so emotional about their show, you can't STAND to see them do well because you hate it! C. Have no concept of what it takes to really be a champion and devalue everyone else who has that ability. Either way, try growing up. And I bet my salary that you couldn't march 2 minutes of that show and move a mirror around playing the kind of stuff they play. I hear buzzers. Ding Ding!! Wierd...On MY Fan Network feed, no one was booing. I heard major BLUUUUUUU-ing for the Bluecoats when they were announced. Then I heard cheers when BD was announced in 1st.Maybe I am hearing things...Maybe I imagined it... Nope I heard the cheers for first. BCC99Man
As Garfield said, no, not really. But in 2007 they did beat Cavies and BD at the same show before finals week... but then the hose came out and they lost performance speed in the last 3 shows. That was at the Bluecoats homeshow in Centerville, OH right before July 4th
ajwdad
You didn't hear it? A mass of audience members hate your show so very much it was booed. It was booed in dallas and san antonio. It was booed in Atlanta. How is that not something to be considered? But it doesn't matter, right? As long as you get a ring, F the crowd. more horsecrap. Take a Valium, drink a beer, or just go relax. BD is nowhere near home. But, the only way that they can hear the cheers from clowns like you is if they lose. Since they are executing the best that they can, and trying to improve faster than anyone else, they have to take whatever reaction that they get on any given night. None of the performers wrote the show, none of them wrote the music, so booing their placement, performance, or anything else will have little impact on the actual writers. Again, horsecrap. If you want to complain about the show, do it to Gibbs. But your whiny, crybaby stuff is just plain juvenile.

GMichael1230
Yeah, I know DCP has no relevance. OKJust some people have made claims that BD fans can be arrogant. Some people may construe that post as such. If you don't care, so be it. And FWIW, tonight's webcast made me a believe of BD's show. I bet I come across as arrogant, thats because those calling me that hate the product I enjoy...thread after thread of drive by comments, put downs, etc, etc....crowd surmationss, conclsions drawn as fact..etc... day after day after day..and BD keeps on winning, and folks keep on enjoying them.... I will defend them because they didnt commit no crime, they just enjoy performing a show that folks here dont like. G
wvu80
One question out of curiosity...have Bluecoats ever been this dominant? Well...consistanly beating a top 3 corps. (not trying to start a hate fest I'm honestly just wondering) Best Bluecoats ever. They deserve every accolade they've earned this year. Put me down as a huge fan of the drum line. What a great job they do every night. If you get a chance, listen to the FN replay on headphones. Even if you don't watch the video, you'll understand how tight the battery and pit are. Watch the video and you'll see the distance between them, and you'll be more amazed. Edited August 1, 2010 by wvu80
jaylogan
Thank goodness for averaged GE. Those judges barely agreed on anything!
acanadeanhick
One last thing - Academy jumped from the 15-16 range up to 13! Benefited from performance order, but still took a hefty jump over Colts/Troop, and the visual isn't holding them down so much this week. Still a big gap from 12 to the rest of the pack, interesting to see if anyone (Colts/Troop/Acad/other) can close it.
Shamu89
Ensemble is largely timing across all the sections - and does take into account some visual aspects. From personal experience music ensemble scores jump drastically after nit picky timing fixes, which are (partially) independent of brass/percussion technique. (A good onfield brassline can still be out of sync with a good onfield drumline) So a "bad" brassline in sync with a "bad" drumline scores much better than each individually? And I put "bad" in quotes for a reason. Crown is very, VERY good. Just using this particular recap as a learning tool. I've got a 17 yr old rookie marcher, so I'll probably be reading and caring about these things for a few more years. ;)
