The Other Mike
I think it was 1973 or 74 and we had about a week layover in Quincy Il. We found a local "joint" 2 blocks away from the housing site that served ICE COLD beer for 15 cents a mug. ( and a huge plate of fried catfish for about a buck ) I'd never tasted Blatz Beer before or since then, but I sure drank my fill for those 5 or 6 days. I'm sure everyone has a story about some oasis on tour. And God Bless the VFW / American Legion halls when the legal age was 18 and the old guys would buy us beer all night. AHHHHH crap, I miss the old days
supersop
I guess I'll be the wimp here and admit I enjoy a nice frothy mug of ROOTBEER when I want drum corps. Barq's or A&W preferably.

ShutUpAndPlayYerGuitar
Great thread. If I'm just walking around and watching lots (not on public school grounds, obviously) I'll typically go with a can of inexpensive lager (i.e. Grainbelt Premium, Bud, Miller). If I'm watching at home, it needs to be a good, dark stout or porter. Nothing too strong, but a good drink to encourage a conversation. And if I'm watching a corps I don't care for ... I go with the Panther.

I've wanted to try a Rheingold ever since the product was positioned in the movie "Down to Earth" as Chris Rock's character's favorite beer. Where is it sold? BRASSO
This question came up in the chat room during tonight's Box Center broadcast. What beer goes best with drum corps?Discuss. DOS EQUIS : THE BLUE DEVILS ( what else ? ) He is the most interesting man in the world. He once had an awkward moment... just to see how it feels. He is the life of the party.... even when he does not attend. People hang on is every word.... even the prepositions. Police often question him.... because he's interesting. His personality is so magnetic, he can't carry credit cards. He can speak french.... in Russian He goes to museums... and they let him touch the art. He can give you directions you'd never get lost, and you'd arrive at least 5 minutes early. He goes for a swim.... dolphins appear. As Dos Equis.... Blue Devils.... remind you....." stay thirsty my friend ". Edited July 24, 2010 by BRASSO
