Wow! I assume 8&I USMC drum corps was there, so kudos to USAF.... I mention that because I believe that the Marine's have the only "Full time" drum corps out of all the branches. Air Force and Navy are Academy Drum Corps, but I could be wrong.

You are....the competition's for the service academy student corps...Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard. (Army doesn't have one)

Congrats to the AF, but I'll have to tease my friend a bit...he was DM for the Naval Academy D & BC, 85-87.

Correct. The Coast Guard Academy corps coesn't make the trip to Colorado Springs... but competes with the Naval and Air Force Academy corps when the show is held in Annapolis.

The Marine Drum and Bugle Corps does not compete.

robbed I tell you...the navy was robbed!!

( and I am saying that because I had 4 family members work at a Navy Depot)
