ScoutSop08
Thanks for sharing this haunting version of the song. Earlier this year, I saw another version of it on TV...I remember her at a live concert decades ago... This is my favorite song of all time and every version from Rufus, to Buckley, KD Lang, and even Justin Timberlake are great...but if you're gonna put it on the field you have to go with this version IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2SZ-nCBmsU

Avert67
Interesting.... a great song.Been mentioned in another thread but this is a truly stunning piece of music.... I've always thought of this one more as a closer maybe...very triumphant, beautiful, victorious perhaps? Really, anything sigur ros...you can't go wrong with them. Olsen Olsen, Untitled #1, glosoli, Gong, Saeglopur...basically anything off of Agaetis Byurjin or (). If anyone reading this hasn't heard of sigur ros...do yourself a favor and look up their stuff now.
Jeff Ream
Her music is wonderful. Love Cider House Rules, and also her music for The Legend of Bagger Vance. also good stuff. the key is not just picking a pretty ballad...it's making it fit the show. of course not hacking it up in the arrangement process also helps

Noname
I instantly think of When David Heard, by Eric Whitacre. There's the last louder part in the song, that I think would be a fantastic hornline moment. Also, anything by Bear McCreary or Martin O'Donnell. They're amazing. luvs me sum mello!
Not near haunting enough. The best versions don't betray the darkness of the lyrics. It starts and stops at Jeff Buckley. I wasn't linking the Rufus version. The Midnight Ramblers version is what I linked and sounds like a corps arrangement.
