soccerguy315
the better question is can SCV come out of the gate with 10+ minutes of show, or will they hope to dazzle the G7 audiences in Texas with only 7 minutes of music and drill that ends abruptly? {obligatory comment about SCV not finishing show in time} oh. I was too slow.
Piper
It's always a dilemma for any corps. If you peak too soon you might run out of steam and if you peak too late you might run out of gas.
Lance
sure they can
Galen
{obligatory comment about SCV not finishing show in time} {obligatory follow-up about SCV still getting a 72-75 out of the gate despite not finishing said show in time}
fsubone
{obligatory comment about SCV not finishing show in time} {obligatory comment about many other corps not having finished shows at the start of the season, yet only SCV getting in trouble for it, when last year and 2008 was two of the only years SCV didn't have a full show at the first competition, maybe we'll see BD come out with a half-finished show in June, who knows?} I know it's a big goal for the staff to have everything down on the field from the start, and this could be the vehicle they need. Especially with the new staff additions, and the really exciting program.
FHdork
And if SCV DOES beat BD out of the gate, then Wayne starts hanging around rehearsal, telling everyone, 'No more Mr. Nice Guy...from now on...NAZI (deleted expletive...) GERMANY!' And BD wins in August... Edited March 29, 2011 by FHdork
charlie1223
{obligatory comment about SCV not finishing show in time} They said that they are trying REALLY hard this year to finish the show on-time...
charlie1223
-The first TOC show in JUNE is going to be huge determinant for the rest of the season, placements maybe change (ofcourse) but the stigma of being "first" or "last" or "third" between the top 8 will stick with the corps for a very long time. Seeing who has the most completed product right out of spring training is more a factor this year than it has been in the passed for sure! TRacer
SCV is traditionally slow out of the gate, nothing new there; last year at Stanford WAS a low point, though. By way of contrast, I think '87 was a year where SCV was at WOT from Day 1 and didn't let up. (WOT = car guy term for Wide Open Throttle)
contrajedi8
Can they? Sure. Pioneer could beat BD coming out of the gate. Will they? No.
