Michael Boo
Just going to pretend that year never happened? No, it's clearly listed in my posting above, for over four hours.

ibexpercussion
I am the only person in my family to march drum corps! Does that count as trivia? Kind of like Cliff Clavin from Cheers when he was on Jeopardy: Alex Trebek: Let's go to Cliff and get his Final Jeopardy answer. "Who are people who have never been in my kitchen?" I'm sorry, that is wrong. Cliff: Wait a minute, Alex. I can offer conclusive proof that those three people have never been in my kitchen. BRASSO
I've also added the Province of Ontario. California has had the most corps in Finals, at six. California (6) Santa Clara Vanguard Blue Devils Velvet Knights Freelancers Anaheim Kingsmen Stockton Commodores Illinois (5) The Cavaliers Phantom Regiment Guardsmen DesPlaiines Vanguard Black Knights Wisconsin (3) Madison Scouts Blue Stars Kilties Ontario (3) De La Salle Oaklands/Oakland Crusaders Seneca Optimists Dutch Boy Pennsylvania (3) The Cadets Crossmen Royal Crusaders Massachusetts (3) Boston Crusaders 27th Lancers North Star New Jersey (3) The Cadets Bridgemen Muchachos Ohio (2) Bluecoats Glassmen Kansas (2) Sky Ryders Argonne Rebels Florida (2) Suncoast Sound The Magic Delaware Crossmen North Carolina Carolina Crownb South Carolina Carolina Crown Georgia Spirit of Atlanta Alabama Spirit (of JSU) Colorado Blue Knights Wyoming Troopers Iowa Colts Indiana Star of Indiana Louisiana Bleu Raeders New York Purple Lancers Washington Cascades Good research, Michael Boo. You are correct with the answer.... California... and the number of Corps ( 6 ). I also found it interesting where the other states on this would be. Good stuff ! audiodb
When did they eventually fold after becoming the Southernaires? I know they competed in '81 and '82. IIRC, they tried unsuccessfully to field in both '83 and '84 before calling it quits. Think I at least saw a press release in DCW in the fall of '83 announcing their 1984 plans.... bluecoats88
I've got an interesting one, let's see if anyone can get this answer. Musically what is the unique aspect of the 1992 Blue Devils show that no other corps had done before or since?

bluecoats88
Quoted Poison - a rap/hip hop tune. Mike Not what I was going for, and other corps have quoted obscure and unconventional music.

Musically what is the unique aspect of the 1992 Blue Devils show that no other corps had done before or since? Meehaphone bugles - a custom built bugle which was a cross between the sound of a goose honking and snoring, but without the range. Was I close? A Kanstul Meehaphone, s/n 1036 utilized by the Concord Blue Devils from 1987 through 1991. This instrument was outfitted with a custom Terry Warburton mouthpiece (similar to a flugelhorn cup). Edit: Whoops, the Middle Horn Leader website said 1987-91, so I guess I guessed wrong, I guess. Edited October 5, 2011 by wvu80

Musically what is the unique aspect of the 1992 Blue Devils show that no other corps had done before or since? Almost turned drum corps into an 18 and over show during their closer? Or is using giant dice the right answer?
