DCI 2012 Programs

Thanks for the link.

Sounds like some seriously demanding stuff. My first impression on listening to all three movements was that it sounded like something you might expect from Cadets. I am really looking forward to hearing what Crown does with it.

My first thought was: sounds like 10 Cadets' endings, then towards the end I thought about Cavies' bottom sound. Very enjoyable. Thanks Hot. I am not sure how to find the other two movements. I will look.

Colts 2012: "Boundaries"

Boundaries_Web.jpg

Boundaries can limit. They can also protect. Boundaries can divide opposing forces, or provide a framework within which games are played. Boundaries define what one does or does not do, what is acceptable or unacceptable. They also define who is in, and who is out. Boundaries protect us from enemies, but also fence us in. Breaking boundaries confronts the establishment, while allowing us to explore magnificent artistic endeavors, to pursue the unattainable, and to achieve the unimaginable. Please join us in our exploration of boundaries...

The Colts are pleased to present their 2012 program, "Boundaries," featuring:

"August’s Rhapsody" (from the movie August Rush), by Mark Mancina

"Boundaries," an original composition by David Nelson

"Piano Concerto No. 2, Mvt. 2," by Sergei Rachmaninoff

"All By Myself," by Eric Carmen

Somewhere right now, a Bluecoats staffer is reading this thread and smirking.

Should there be excuses?

Who needs their fan base to get excited about their show and the upcoming season anyway, huh??

I love what the Cadets have done in letting everyone in on the design process, and keeping their fans interested year round, instead of just the middle of June to the middle of August, and instead of not releasing anything about the show until the last possible nanosecond lest we risk the info getting into the hands of the terrorists...

Just another example of drum corps taking themselves way too seriously, IMHO.
