Perhaps the words sponsorship and endorsement have been intermingled? perhaps not? (to use Guardling "logic.") Via Annapolis and USBands, Marine Corps sponsorship sometimes means that they make the phonecall authorizing stadium gates to be opened for other marching units to use the field.
