On this video and on last year's video, it was fairly apparent that the ensemble is just a little bit behind the conductor. I.AM.OVER.IT To the contrary, I will be VERY DISAPPOINTED if they don't. This show seems to be oozing potential for high drama, and if it's appropriate, why not add the impacts? Regiment has always been about drama, raw emotion, and power. I think it fits with their persona in years that it makes sense with the show or theme they are bringing. Do I want to see it be an every year trademark, no. But if the theme calls for it, as Defiant Heart (in a way, alluded to), Faust, Spartacus, Juliet & Turnadot all did, why not? I don't remember the specifics, but I think during the 2011 Quarterfinals cinema broadcast, just before PR went on with "Juliet" there was an interview with a staff member about this very subject.
