Slingerland
(He also mentioned that while the 2000-2002 uniforms are as "accurate" to the Kipling poem as any that the corps has ever worn, the staff all felt they were pretty disastrous on the field. The colors didn't really "go" with anything.) Taupe will do that to you.

fsubone
Is there an unusual amount of corps getting new uniforms this year? Blue Stars Bluecoats Carolina Crown Colts Mandarins Troopers Probably about normal, if not a little high. Don't forget, BD will probably change their uniform up a little bit as well. Last year, we had: BD Cadets Phantom SCV Crown Most we just small tweaks to existing uniforms, but still a change from before.

Blue Stars Bluecoats Carolina Crown Colts Mandarins Troopers Don't you know it is the uniform manufacturing lobby which controls the activity today?!?!?! We went through the cycle of the '80's when the percussion people controlled the show (different types of battery drums, addition of pit, types of cymbals, etc, etc.) Then it was the horn manufacturers dictates (one valve, two valve, three valve, no G's, one contra, two contra, now tubas, etc., etc.) It's the fabric and fringe people's turn.:huh2:/>
Piper
I like the Troopers new uni's for the corps proper. A refreshing touch of history and americana. The guard? Well let's just say that I'm glad I'll never have to wear it.

And I think someone mentioned somewhere that they will not have the drop sash this year. I remember seeing a few pics on BD's Facebook dated within the last few months and it was missing. I believe they changed the pattern inside of the drop sash, and some small changes to the jackets. Nothing drastic, but small things. DrumManTx
I was mainly referring to complete uniform changes, not alterations.

Dan-Z
I'm kinda 'eh' about the new uni, to be honest. They could lose the shoulder pauldron and it would look better, IMHO. It looks... cluttered. Not the best uni choice, but by far not the worst. Edited June 2, 2013 by Dan-Z
